Hello Cheri, we lived in Bothell, WA for 25 years before moving to Oregon.  I have been to Poulsbo many times, what a nice place to live.

I finished my fabric was kinda fun, actually, but I'm ready to clean up the mess and move on to something else.  I had started a little quilt to donate to the AAQI (Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative; they raise money for Alzheimer's research by selling these quilts).  Anyway, I make one per month and for January I'm making one with a large four-leaf clover in the center.  I have it appliqued on, but I need to sew around the edges.  I've done very little applique and I'm hesitant to do this one with all the curves.  I still can't believe I'm in a dry spell!  Quilting was so good for my mental health!  I've been struggling with depression and haven't felt like doing much of anything, quilting or not, so my doctor put me on an anti-depressant.  I hope it works!  I really miss quilting, yet I can't get it in me to work on anything.  I've had a few dry spells in the past, but they only lasted a few days...all I had to do to get out of it was buy some new fabric!

I've never done a mystery quilt.  Have you done one before?  Are you making it for any specific reason, or just for the heck of it?  I normally make quilts to donate, but I'm thinking I should make something just for fun and not pressure myself!

Hi Cheri~thanks for adding me as a friend!

I've been married for 28 years, have a Beagle but no children (not by choice).  It would be wonderful to have grandkids by now!

I've been in a quilting slump lately, so I've been experimenting with fabric painting.  What a mess!  But I'm going to do four fat quarters before cleaning up.  Luckily I have a cutting table in my sewing room because it takes several days for the paint to dry and it can be out of the way.  I'm hoping this gets me back in the mood to quilt!  I was going non-stop for several years and out of the blue I lost interest.  I've done that with every hobby I've ever had, but usually I lose interest after a year of two.  So I'm hoping there's an end to this dry spell. I have too much money invested in quilting to call it quits!  I was mainly making quilts to sell and donate, but I think now it's time for me to do something just for fun.

So, do you come here very often?  At first I had a hard time finding my way around, but after a few weeks and after joining a few groups it was much easier.  Everyone is so friendly and helpful!

I hope you'll put some pictures of your quilts here.  One of my favorite things to do is look at everyone's quilts!

Thanks again for adding me as a friend!  Oh, by they way, how far away are you from Seaside, OR?
