Happy Birthday, Barbara. Hope your day is delightful...
Hi Barbara, I just found your friend request because I had not been on since joining, I hope to start my first quilt soon, now that it is cold out and the holiday season is over I should have time! Looking forward to knowing you!
Hi Barbara, Who is the author of 'Lover's Knot'? Is it a quilting series I will see if my Lib here has a copy to read as I to enjoy reading them. I also enjoy reading non fiction books and usually take out a large collection from our Lib. which I usually browse through at leisure making notes and reading up different processes and experimenting with some techniques. The sewing group always tease me when I return armed with books.
Let me know if you enjoy the Elm Creek series. Some of the quilts mentioned in her stories are in a quilt pattern book. I've seen two of these books. The quilts are beautiful. Take Care happy reading Ellen
Hi Barbara Thanks for adding me to friend list. I live in Hamilton NZ. Have been a quilter since 2000 but always dabbled with stitchery since a child. My gran was a seamstress and I always enjoyed playing with fabric and sewing dolls clothes when we visited her.
I enjoy quilting and have made quite a number of quilts but have been moving to more textile and mixed media projects of late as I find quilting a large bed quilt daunting and a challenge so prefer smaller work. We emigrated to NZ in 2004 from South Africa but have been envolved with guilds here since we arrived here. I have 3 sons. My hubby is a electronics engineer and also designs things so often get his advice with my creations. When I get more accustomed to this site I will put up some photos of my work still a newbee hehe!!! Hope you managed to get of Jennifer's books to read I found them so good. It even got me on to finding out more about my ancestors. Take Care Ellen
Barbara,
You know, I think we were on the same bus. Did you go on Saturday?
I am so pleased to add you as my friend. I al-so have to get busy with my quilt. My sister just recently had to have one of her breast removed and is currently undergoing Chemo. I am making her a quilt out of Cancer prints and have promised my granddaughter to have three toddler quilts for Santa to bring.
I'm pretty new to this site and wonder if I'm leaving this response in the right place.
I moved to Indio about 2 months ago, but I am loving the desert and the friendly people I'm meeting. The place where I'm having the most fun is called Monica's Quilt and Beading. I don't know of any place called Mary Ann's.
I find quilting relaxing, too. For me applique is the best peaceful feeling!
