Tell us about yourself—as much or as little as you like.
I've been quilting since 2001 and have written a book and many other quilt patterns. I now own an APQS George and love "quilting the quilt". I have an unsatisfiable passion for quilting.
Like many women, I tried every new craft that came along, but found my passion in quilting. My Mom taught me to sew and to embroider when I was 6 years old. After sewing my children’s clothing and for myself for many years, I discovered the wonderfully fun world of quilting in 2001 when I made my first wall quilt. I tied the intersections with embroidery floss and secured the mitered borders with glue! It was then that I realized the need to take classes at a local quilt shop. My techniques have improved significantly, to the point of designing my own patterns and teaching in quilt shops and guilds.
My work combines my background in accounting with an eye for color and movement. My patterns are very detailed including lots of diagrams with the novice in mind. I love “thinking outside the box” and am now experimenting with a more “modern” approach to quilting. I love trying to develop ways to make techniques easier and more confidence building during the process. I have worked out the math so you don’t have to. I take breaks to crochet, knit, or play music, but my passion for fabric hasn’t faded. Creating with cloth is just in my blood and I’m having a fantastic time sharing my knowledge with others while making many new quilting friends. I thank the Lord for the talents He has given me.
