Profile Information

Tell us about yourself—as much or as little as you like.
I want to create 5 quilts at once while 20 ideas are dancing in my head...and save some time for writing...and there are probably a dozen books on my immediate 'want to read' list. Was that my crochet hook that I just sat on? I want to learn silk dying, and more about all facets of fiber arts. And I have a passion for great cooking and travel! If only I had time and energy for all of that.

Reality - I work full time, share my home with the love of my life, have 2 all-grown-up-and-married daughters, and two fun and funny grandsons. One thing I know for sure: time is precious.
How many quilts have you made?
Probably a dozen - including several baby quilts given away.
Do you want to make quilts, or simply enjoy them?
How long have you been a quilter?
My first was 35 years ago. There was a pause while I was busy with kids and work. But I'm happy to be back!
What is your favorite quilting technique?
Right now I'm enjoying English Paper Piecing because I like the portability and precision.
Why do you quilt?
Fabric and color excite me.

(Both of Blane's grandmas are quilters - it was sent to both of us!)

"Grandma, I thought you would like the quilt I made…

Hi Lemmah just here to introduce myself and welcome you to MQP.

Some times we are not sure where to visit on this site but I wanted to let you know that I have a group of gals and I that are doing several different quilts the Blooming Nine and the Jewel Box quilts. We are posting pictures with our choices of fabrics and progress. Carla Walton has done several of the Blooming Nine so she is our administrator. Come on over to view what we are doing at http://myquiltplace.com/group/batik-strip-swap/forum/topics/projects-and-pictures?xg_source=activity.

To do the Jewel Box we have a Batik Strip Swap going on and we are using those strips for the Jewel Box.
