Hi Amy!  I've been here for a few weeks now and really enjoy it...it's the only social networking site I belong to.  I'm hoping the groups pick up pace though...they are pretty quiet considering there are now over 2000 members here!  But I guess this site only started on March 1, so it'll probably take time to get the ball rolling.  I've joined several groups so far...traditional quilting, piecing, machine quilting, scrappy quilts and a few others.  I also started a group for newbies.  I've only been quilting for 5 years and still have much to learn.  When I first got started I had a lot of help from other quilters, so I thought I may be of help to some who are newer than I.

My hubby supports my hobby as well.  I now have 2 sewing rooms because my frame takes up one whole room!  I don't use a long-arm machine...just a frame with a home machine with a wide throat space.  I actually prefer sitting to quilt.  I just can't seem to get the hang of standing up to do it!  Plus, I like to do detailed quilting and it's just much easier when you're sitting (for me anyway).
