the tall one was loaned to me by a shop quilt shop owner that hubs & i stop & shop & visit with when we are traveling home from california. my hubs & her hubs sit in the easy chairs and talk about dirt moving toys & stuff & things. she & i cruise thru the bolts of fabric. i try not to buy, but she has gorgeous fabrics and good books all at great prices. this past year she showed me the tall pincushion. the maker had promised for months to bring the pattern in, but instead, just brought in another pincushion, shorter & made w a beautiful rose print fabric. so, we decided i would bring the tall one home & make a pattern that i would bring w me next fall when we pass thru that part of oregon again.

so ... i spent mothers day out to breakfast, home to make templates and sewed all day w only one interruption!! a delightful one grandtreasures called and serenaded me over the phone. what a great day!! :))

...tomorrow i mow :(( ...lollol

thank you carla & vickie b !! i spent the whole day mothers day sewing. we went out to breakfast and then i told the boss that since it was my day ...i'm gonna sew all day and he can do leftovers for his dinner :)). and he agreed, he is such a nice guy. between making my templates & working out construction process it took me, literally, all day long into early evening. but happy w the results and will be cutting out a few more. one for the shop owner who loaned me the tall one to use as a pattern & a few to gift friends with. the short blue one will go to one of mil church quilt group ladies who sends me fabric & scraps all the time. i love the pattern!! i have collected ceramic & glass pincushions for many many years. i love pincusions!! :))
