I decided to frame the embroidery in the oval, and used that great polka dot. I had the idea it would look interesting to see the fabric through the sheet white hankies, and after this I did several more quilts that way.

When I decided on the oval setting for the Blackwork pattern, I thought of using the white hankies this way. I liked how the print showed through them. I could use hankies with holes or imperfections or stains, too. I did several more embroidered projects with hanky point framing this way.
