Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
This is a simple strip pieced design, and somewhat abstract. I wanted to play with these colors and to express what it is like in the forest on a cool foggy day.

Thanks Carolyn!
You succeeded! Great job!!
Ok, thank you for your reply Cathy. I appreciate the time you took to explain how you made this quilt. My boyfriend wants me to make a quilt for our bedroom, but he is real picky about what he likes...I showed him your quilt and he really likes it. I will have to see if I can try to make one after the holidays when I'm caught up with other projects.
You mentioned you're getting another quilt book together...does that mean you already have one or more out there? I'd be interested in getting them if they're available online somewhere.
You definitely do beautiful work. :o)
There isn't a pattern, I made it up. (I'm an author and getting another quilting book together and this will be one of the projects). The main fabric I used in the background was a gradated batik, it is the 4th and 6th strip etc. The strips are in a rhythm of sizes, it looks like 1 inch, 1 inch, 1 inch, 1/4 inch and 1-1/2 inches. (I started with a 1 inch.) All those sizes are 'finished'. So I added some landscape prints on the bottom to suggest a bit of green foliage in the foreground, and let my strips get lighter toward the top to suggest trees losing their leaves and letting in more light. When it was all sewn together, I fused on some fall leaves. This is a fairly easy quilt. Just look for foggy gray and other soft prints to blend it. You don't want any bright colors except the fused leaves. :)
I'm glad you like this, thanks!
I totally love this quilt...is there a pattern for it? I'd love to make one for our bedroom if there's any chance in getting the pattern!
another beauty
Thank you!
