My daughter started her first quilt at age 6. She went through my small scraps and started to pick out what she liked. She would sew pieces together to form blocks or rectangles and I would press and square it up as she went along. Eventually we made rows and sewed them together. At age 7 she finished the top and quilted it on my longarm. I did the binding.

Thanks ladies for all the nice comments.  Wish I was able to take more time to quilt with her.  Her true passion seems to be wanting to make clothes.  I am not real comfortable with clothes patterns.

Great quilt.  What a wonderful way to teach her to quilt.  Something she'll enjoy her whole life. Well done.

Beautiful work for a young lady.  Great to start her so early in life.  Hope she keeps up the great work.

She put flannel on the back.  It is pink with monkeys.  I think she like that side almost as much.  She drags it everywhere.

She must be so proud.  What a cheerful quilt to snuggle under.
