Beautiful quilt Michelle. I know how you feel. I have seen quilts that I made for family members, wadded up and stuffed in the corner of a closet. Then heard of them sitting on them in the grass at soccer games. Not as bad as what you and Carla experienced though. A good friend once told me that when you give it away, "let it go". The recipient will never understand the thought, care, and effort it took to make that quilt. Doesn't make us feel better, does it?

I imagine! I just can't come to grips with one being an engine cover though.....I mean, it. Doesn't ruin my life or anything. But it'll never forget it.

Yes Carla, this is the one. I spent a lot of time making it and almost gave it to someone else, but she has always lived on the coast and a I thought it would be perfect for her....Once you give them away you have to be okay with what happens to them....BUT, she will never get another quilt from me. Once is enough.

Chris, is this the one you said was being used in a dog bed????? please say no. i'd have to take it home, wash it and keep it for myself. I learned my lesson after the whole engine episode.  no....that wouldn't work for me anymore. LOLOL

I just moved from Eureka, CA & lighthouse quilts are very popular with the guilds up there.

It would be cool, but I didn't make this quilt. I had commented on it & it popped up on my site.

This quilt was a gift at Christmas last year.

Nice colors! Now if you pop your pirates in the lighthouse holes, you have ocean and pirates!
