this was the correct place when you posted it here. and still is as a quilt you have made and posted in your personal album. there are a couple of groups who have set up photo discussion pages - i.e. the epp group, the mystery quilt group and the batik swap group. in the batik group a discussion was started earlier this year about quilt patterns that would lend themselves well to the batiks being swapped. sort of..."we got all these pretty strips of MANY different colors...now what" type discussion. jewel quilt was one suggestion that carla and i came up with. so we posted pics we found on other internet pages. i also suggested the old & similar perkiomen pattern of the pensylvania dutch tradition. then we started finding more pics from internet, and carla started a photo page to make it easier to show what we were finding and then what she and collette were making. to date...yours and carlas are the only completed or nearly completed jewel box quilts. both so different...both so beautiful!

I have always loved this pattern ever since I saw it on Eleanore Burns quilt in a day.  I have been gathering the fabrics to do this one.  I want just the right jewel tones.

Wow, that is quite a bucket list

Actually, the written list doesn't exist, but there's a list in my brain, however, if it were numbered I'm sure it would far exceed 548. :o)

Thanks again, maybe someday I'll make another and use black for the background.  That is after I finish the other 548 quilts that are on my bucket list. :0)

Sharon, I have seen a quilt using colors like these on a black background and it was spectacular. It gave the appearance of a stained glass window.

What a beautiful pattern and you used all of my favorite colors. Bright quilts make me feel happy.

Thanks ladies, I actually did a block swap with some other quilters and we all made a quilt from our blocks.  I actually wanted to use black for the background but got outvoted.  :o)  I was pleased with the finished product.  My favorite part is the thin multicolored border that I added between the two white borders and the multicolored binding.  I'm sure you all will love your quilt when you get it finished.
