measure & count ..yup ..when you're self taught you are influenced by stuff in books & stuff. :)) so i count, measure. when i am sewing patches for a quilt i frequently measure the seams as i work. it's what i do, who i am. 'course i measure the heck out of my garden as i lay it out too.

rouge - I kind of figured you were the type that lived for a challenge! But you measure your hand quilting stitches. You win!!

lollol!! oh no worries. i am like you, my hand quilting needs to be uniform, small (spelled t i n y) equal stitches front & back. i even pause now & again to measure stitches per inch. no, i zoom for other details like pattern used & how. i am not a good fmquilter & look for ideas for patterns etc. this quilt looks like it was a great lot of fun to make! i really do love it. and challenges ..my modis operandi :)) my mil asked me years ago as she examined a very splendid bathrobe i had made from a morgo thomas pattern. simple pattern, easy construction ..but i added a few details like slit pockets so as not to interfere w the gorgeous print of the fabric. she asked me then, we both new to each other in our relationsship, "do you ever do anything easy?" my response was a laughing "nope!" easy is not entertaining enough to keep me occupied. i like challenges. still do, and she has come to accept that in me, her challenge of a dil :))

Zoom - Oh no, please don't examine my quilting! When I hand quilt I'm a perfectionist but I'm having so much fun quilting by machine, which I prefer to call thread play, I don't seem to care too much about my stitch length, number of stitches per inch, etc. I really appreciate your comments. It was a very fun and challenging project.
