Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
I made this quilt in 2013 from a pattern that appeared in Quilter's World in April 2007, but with different colors. It was for a grandnephew whose parents had many dogs before they had him. Each color is quilted with its own pattern to simulate different breeds. I did free motion dog bones in the white spaces. It was fun to make, but difficult to square up, because the dogs are at an angle. The pattern called for shank buttons for eyes, but this quilt was for a newborn, so I embroidered the eyes, though they don't show, because of the floppy ears.
