Renovating the sewing room

My laundry/sewing area served me well for 4 yr., but now I'm improving it to make it even more efficient. It's a work in progress, so pictures will added.

Congrats for working on your new sewing studio.  I just recently renovated mine and it was so much fun.  I call it my woman cave.  If a man can have a man cave, why can't I have a woman cave right?  I love mine.  I have cabinets and one area is for my quilting, another one has my drafting table for drawing and painting and I have an area for my desk and computer and knitting classes.  I also have a small couch from Ikea and tv so I can listen when I work.  I love it and I'm sure you will too when it's finished.  I envy your mid arm.  I wish I had one.  I just learned how to quilt as you go technique because it's so hard to stuff all that fabric into my regular machine.  I would just love to have a long arm.  Enjoy.....

Hi Riana,

Neat to read that you were once a wood carver. I love the things I make out of wood, but as my interests in quilting have been picking up I find myself torn some days. I love them both so much. It is a shame that we have to waste so much time sleeping.  I envy those people that can get by on as little as two to three hours a night. I could sure put that time to good use.

Linda, this space s also laundry...l use the cutting table for folding/sorting clothes. The washer is only accessable when l wheel the cutting table a few inches over, which is why the height had to be a couple of inches higher than the counter. l used to do woodcarving , but quilting & golf "took over" my time:)

How wonderful for you. So well planned out.  I would love to have that much space just for my quilting. My room is divided into quilting and wood carving. The drawing table is used for both. It works well if I clean up after myself each time. I guess that is good. It keeps me disciplined.
