If you're a REAL quilter, you have at least one UFO (unfinished object) and one WIP (work in progress) stashed in the closet or stacked on a shelf. Maybe you just need quilting suggestions, or maybe a fresh eye from a new online friend can help with block arrangements. How about a UFO swap? Any UFO conversation is welcome.

Mary, I remember having a nice fire in the fireplace when we had our home.  None in the condo except for those who have electric fireplaces.  That's not the same though.

I worry about my daughter and son-in-law being in northern British Columbia and forest fires.  Mike has now trained to be the volunteer fire chief and my daughter is a volunteer fire fighter too.  They have a creek on their property and a pump and they have landscaped to protect their home.

After we voted, Hubby and I had a Timmy's coffee and shared a bagel.  I am working on a quilt pattern called "Dizzy Lizzy" after me and cutting floral 5" squares for a scrap quilt.  I also am working on pieced 12 1/2" scrap blocks for backing.  Really, just playing!

No heat until the 21st!  We've been having fireplace fires at night for a month.  Oh, We're at 4000 ft.

The fire danger is worse in the fall, because we are still waiting for serious rain(none since May) and the winds get fierce(40 mph sustained in some places).  In our area, there are migrant workers and homeless camping out and they can be careless with their campfires.

Happy Thanksgiving to all the Canadians out there.  Hope you have a great holiday.

Mary, I, like many, take electricity for granted.  Hubby and I have been wrapped in our individual "woobies"  (throw quilts) when we watch T.V.  because we start to get cool in the evening when we are tired.  Heat doesn't get turned on until Oct. 21.

You are right, Riana.  Today is actually Thanksgiving Day and we are going to celebrate by voting in our federal election at the advance poll.

Thankyou, Mary and Barbara...we Canadians have a great deal to be thankful for. Tomorow is the actual " Thanksgiving  day". Today l was out in the gardens clipping the tops off large leafy plants that are done for the season, and dividing perrenials. Anything l do now, won't need tending to in spring.

I don't have electricity from a power company.  Solar and a back up generator is what we use.  A mile away there are electric most my community was in trouble from Wed night through Sat morning.  I got a day off on Thursday as the library had no electricity.
