My parcel arrived hoo, wasn't home, so this morning BRIGHT & EARLY, I stood in line at the PO to pick up my parcel.  It is year, and I am waiting until everyone has their box.  I cannot wait until Christmas ….

I am so excited, I received my SS box at 8am this morning.  I know who my SS sister is because I recognize her address.  But I am going to wait until Christmas to open my box.  If I can wait that long...hehehe

I am surprised that it cost more here. I know when I went to Victoria BC, it was costly, but then it was in a tourist destination.  I got a hotel room that had a kitchen and I would go to the grocery.. there I discovered,  "candied salmon" . Yummy !! Also, just happened to be the right time to go, there was a jogging path that used to be a train track, and along that path were black berry bushes that were ripe with fruit. Oh, I picked all I could and took them to my room, also out in town I found a apple tree and picked fresh apples from it.  I was there for 2 weeks, had a fun time in the area and with locals I met.

Mary that's an intriguing name for a quilt book! Yes, it looks like we'll be coming next yr. and a few more as of this time. Hubby has done the accounting ...and with a budget that is not so strict as to make us miserable, we can swing it for maybe 4 more winters, health etc. considered. Our Canadian $ is only worth 75 cents we " lose" 25% of our income while spending time/ $ here in USA.

Zoe, your idea about themes would be great as a row robin style exchange ( we did one on UFO group 4 yr. ago), but with SS it would be too costly for some with all the mailing....better as a separate swap if you belong to "swapping fun for everyone " group.

Colleen, you are a MUCH stronger woman than l am...l'd have had it open ages ago! LOL

I just wanted to send a quick reminder, I received my SS package about a month ago. It is ( hiding) behind my sewing room door. :) I will open it and share photos after everyone else has received theirs. So, mine can be marked off as (received)

Riana, I'm leaning toward a winter theme "Welcome to my Neighborhood"...houses, trees, etc.

Zoe, I'm trying to come up with monthly activities since Kathy won't be here next year to do the "impossible missions".

I have an idea on next year, just an idea. We could each of us do a theme for each person on here, for example, say I want a Santa quilt, everyone could do a Santa theme block, this way we each get different quilts. If say Linda states she wants green and red blocks that represent Christmas, we could do this.   That might be too complicated as I think out loud.. forget it, just a thought.

Oh, and SSS, I will be waiting to open up my packages on Christmas day. When I know who you are, I will ask if they are wrapped, so I will know if I should open the box.
