Have a quilt top that would be perfect for two of them...I have been needing a shawl to read in bed in the winter.

Kathy, I have been a fan of that project for a couple years. I belong to their facebook page. Been wanting to make one ever since I saw the video, just other things got in the way. I don't need sweatshirts living here in Tucson as I have plenty after living in Ohio. This is a wonderful idea. And if the person who receives one doesn't need it, it can be given to a shut-in or someone in the hospital. Perfect!

Ladies, I have a proposition.  For those of you who are not interested in the Sweatshirt mission. (Giving or receiving)  How would you feel about an alternate challenge of doing a Quilted Hug?  If you go on Facebook and search "Quilted Hug Project" it will take you to their site, where a free pattern is available.  Let me know.  Thanks.

This is ElliMae, she is a brat. Only time she will sit in my lap is when I'm hand sewing in the recliner.

Beth, did you feel the shaking in your neck of the woods this morning?  My brother lives in Woodinville and he said it woke them up.  We were in NC when the 2 hit in CA.  Some in our area felt both and others felt nothing.  It was close enough to Death Valley that I would expect some to feel them.  So many aftershocks.

Here is the quilt my sister-in-law and I worked on while we visited in NC.  She actually made two … this one and another.  Hopes to give one to her son/fiancé along with two cute coffee mugs that match the theme.  BUT her sister made known she would like it instead.  I told her she could do a 3rd using the Buzz Buzz Kit offered by MSQ as it was more in the gray fabrics and tones, which is her house interior.
