We also live in a 55+ community in Henderson NV.  We bought our home new in 2007 when we semi-retired (early retirement from 30+ years with company in CA).  Now that we have been there almost 13 years, we just replaced HVAC unit as we didn’t continually want to spend $$$ every inspection for little fixes, then the water conditioner is dying, and our security screens broke.  We had to replace the disposal twice.  It seems nothing lasts as stated, and our desert heat takes a toll, just like our damp coastal living did in CA.

Linda, I am surprised your inspection didn’t uncover some of these issues.  Have you “hassled” your realtor about the failure of inspection.  Know my sister had to go after their realtor because of non-disclosed items.  So sorry you and Indy are experiencing so much.  Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Several people that are new here have said the same thing. There should be laws. Some of us old folks can't afford these kind of expenses.

My friend Carolyn lives in a senior coommunity in New Jersey. She had the same problems with plumbing, heating the sink falling in, something with the bathrooms etc.... The outward appearence was a beautiful home, but she has put a lot of money into repairs through out the house. She is making it into the house she thought it was. That is really sad to put seniors into that kind of situation.

Riana, the house was suppose to be move in ready. However, I've had major plumbing and electrical problems and had to replace the bathroom floor when it fell thru. After paying so much for an inspection, I don't know what he inspected, but he sure missed a lot. The landscaping I knew I would have to redo since the house had been vacant since the previous owner had passed away and had been neglected. I didn't realize I'd have to enclose the patio to be safe due to all the wildlife. The house didn't have any storage area so I had had to have some built. The linen closet had no shelves so I had to have those built as well. Then there were all the things I needed to be handicap accessible like pull out shelves for lower cabinets, ramps, etc. I'm thankful for such wonderful neighbors and a great 55+ community.

Mary, my machines can't take them, I do not believe. What a cue idea thought !

Beth, how wonderful on the diet and weight loss ! I used to follow a plan that helped me balance my days meals. I have gained so much weight that I decided to get back on it. It too just has you eating 4-5 oz of meat a day, so I add in some Greek yogurt for my milk. I gave up milk once and decided I did not have any issues.  Also, I am back on the other quilt, still might send the other one off to you if I can get things together.

Linda, I am so sorry that there are issues with the home you are in and that Indy is not doing well.  My older girl I will take to the vet in two days to see about surgery, I had never heard of a CCL issues before.

Riana, I did not realize you have a home up north, what part?

Wow Beth, that's great. I'm working at it. My first week showed up nothing. But my skin looks better, due to the bone broth powder, I think.? Hoping this next week shows up something.
