My Santa box is just about full. And it's not even August. Might have to relook at what I've stuffed into it. I've had fun making things and hunting for items my Pal has interest in.

Happy Belated Birthday, Karin! Sounds like you had a wonderful day with your quilty friends! Those are the best! Prayers for your son and his upcoming exams. 3 days of testing would be overwhelming for me! Wow!

Linda, We are 3 hours + from San Francisco, but Paul loves an excuse to take a long drive.  Keep me posted.  Moreno Valley was my last real library job...wonder if any friends are still around.

Karin,  even the idea of the BAR EXAM scares me.  I can't imagine remembering all that dry stuff.  Bueno Suerte!!

Also would appreciate positive thoughts and prayers for my son, Andrew who is sitting for the PA and NJ bar exams today, tomorrow and Thursday.  He's worked so hard. :-)

Went over to a quilting friend's house this morning, (there are 6 of us that get together pretty much on a weekly basis), and they had a birthday princess balloon and a cake for me....and they sang. It was so sweet and really made my day.  I waited all this time to form some friendships as my work was always so demanding.  Now I see what I was missing all that time! Quilting really does bring the nicest people together.... Feel better Linda and have a great week Secret Santa girls!!

Take care, Linda! Being sick in the summer feels so wrong, somehow. Sounds like you are keeping busy, though, so that is good.

Mary, Mary...I listened to the oldies station even when I wasn't an oldie. Now that I'm an oldie I don't care!

I'm in my 3rd week of bronchitis and laryngitis from allergies and not allowed to go play in the dirt because of temps and pollen. The past 2 weeks has been Christmas in July movies on the Hallmark channels. So I've been finishing up some UFO embroidery projects and started a Santa counted cross stitch I bought years ago for myself. Got it half done already. Since I still don't have help to get my sewing room set up, I've been unpacking a few things and setting up on the dining room table. Otherwise, Christmas isn't going to happen. I'm heading for the west coast for the holidays.

Mary, how far are you from San Rafael (just north of San Francisco)? I'll be there for a week then heading south to Riverside to my brother's for a week. And Indy is coming too. I'm planning to spend a couple days in San Luis Obispo too. I have a cousin in LA and friends in Moreno Valley. I think we'll be gone the better part of a month. Plus the 3 days out and 3 days back on Amtrak.

Today the "Oldies" radio station declared it Christmas in July and that is all they played.  With the temperature headed for the high nineties and my car's air conditioner not that enthusiastic...I was not in the mood.  I'm mad at that radio station anyway as they dropped playing any hits from the sixties.  I don't like being too old to listen to the oldies station.
