Al, perhaps the women who hit Ben will have a conscience and turn herself in. Glad to hear his injuries weren't worse than they were. They're bad enough. Praying for a speedy recovery and praying the woman turns herself in.
Prayers happening for your neighbor, Mindy. Such a sad thing when children die before their parents. What a heartbreak.
So sorry to hear about such a tragedy for you all, Al. Prayers being sent as we speak, that your son comes through this okay and the woman is caught and held accountable.
Mindy, these fellows were so young! Definitely will pray for their families and for God to bring them comfort and peace. It's so sad when men pass away so young and leave a family behind.
Asking for prayers for a local family having funeral services for the only child this evening. He was 48 and died in a scuba diving accident last week. I know the family well. Great people. Many prayers needed. Thank you!
Also for a friend whose husband passed last week. He was 38 and laid to rest this past Sunday. She and her kids are still in need of continued prayers. Thank you!
So you know Shiprock and some of those places on the reservation in the books too! You do know they take place in NM and AZ?
Al, ha ha ha!!! I met a local smooth jazz duo in Phoenix at an art fest, Sahnas Bros. I now have all their CDs and went to all their local performances again until my accident. Had all their CDs in my car and lost them in the accident. They replaced all of them free and signed them all. When I was released from rehab a friend took me to a performance at the Botanical Gardens for my bday. Dimitri saw us coming in and came up to us. He made room for us in the front row and had our ticket price refunded.
I listen to modern Christian music when I'm sewing too. It's the only time I sing. Because of scar tissue in my throat I don't sing on key anymore. In Arizona I went to a lot (I mean a lot) of Christian concerts...Newsboys, Audio Adrenaline, Mercy Me, Jeremy Camp, to name a few. I was in lay ministry training and became a parish ministry assistant. Many of my friends were in Christian choirs thru out the valley.
Have you read the Tony Hillerman books? It's about a reservation cop. One of the police on the force is a shaman. I have several of the books. I love the books because I've been across the reservation and to many of the places mentioned in the books. I had friends in Farmington, NM. To go there we would go up to Flagstaff and then travel across the reservation. In Farmington one of my friends was president of the BBB. Thru her I met Navajo Codetalkers from WWII. What a priviledge!!! I also met Navajo quilters.
Do you know where in Ohio? I can always google him. In Arizona I listened to several. Jessi Kalu was one of my favorites. I'd always see him at the Botanical Gardens in Phoenix at the Christmas Luminaria. There was another flutist I i liked but never saw in person only on PBS out there...but can't remember his name. It will come to me. There were also a couple bands but only remember the name of one of them...Clan-Destine. The other band is on the tip of my tongue..Brule`. Anyway their music touched my soul. One of them told me I had the soul of the wolf. I asked him how he knew that I supported Save the Wolves? I used to go to their concerts all the time until my car accident 9 years ago and I moved back to Ohio.
Actually I have a teeny bit of Indian blood thru my great great grandmother. Just don't know what tribe. Don't know much about her except she came from Michigan.
We don't have a list on this site...just postings.
The drumming would be cool. When I lived in Arizona I really got into the Native American music. Brought some back with me when I returned to Ohio. Now I want to move back to Arizona.
Hey Al, nice to see you in this group too. When I get to sewing all day and Indy is curled up in his bed, I find myself talking to God and before you know it the day is gone. It's amazing how much I can accomplish during the day when I spend it with Him.
Marcia how is your son doing
