Insomniacs Midnight Chats

Insomniacs Midnight Chats

This group is for those late night quilters who like to login to MQP in the wee hours of the morning.   I know once I wake up I can never go back to sleep so I like to browse around MQP. But I miss all the action because it's 2 or 3 am. So now, maybe my fellow insomniacs can find me here and chat. Or just post your insomnia charged thoughts....hope you enjoy!

Hope you got back to zzzland after all , Rogue. Once you're out in your yard digging & hauling things, you'll stay asleep w/no problem l'm sure.

i can't sleep! glad karen started this group ...wonder where she be of late. 'course nobody else has been here for a long time either. guess right now all are tucked down in quilts & so snuggly warm that sleep or no, it's really not worth crawling out of the warm comfy coccoon to go share the "i can't sleep" lament w a otherwise snoozin' universe :)) ...unless ya be me! lol

Actually I was in AZ at the time. When Christopher was 15-18 months old, he could recite the movie just moments before it actually happened. I would hear him saying things, then I'd hear it in the movie. He's now 17 and graduating from high school in June.

I was given a book one year from a friend about how to be a grandma long distance. That was one of the ideas. I used several of them and the grandkids loved them.

you two were one night late!! lollol i could have used your company night before last ..thinking about next step on quillow project, couldn't sleep!

riana i am pretty much in same boat, not only is girls current home smaller and no play room, but now daddy in small one bedroom apartment w little or no room for toys etc. thus the quillow idea. no problem w all the quilts i've made last few years as they've all been "lost". but i am thinking there is going to be quite a pile of toys & "stuff" this year as significant adults all try to ease the girls divorce situation w lots of christmas booty.

linda sounds like a great idea for older kids. did y'all have good time w movie night? my littlest grand treasure doesn't like sitting still long enough to watch amovie. she is up & gone even before the popcorn runs out!! lol maybe when she is older (6 1/2 now) she'll be able to sit thru a movie, oldest one better, but not her favorite thing to do. they both love to be active or doing something artsy, which is what we spend almost all our time doing when gramma ham comes to visit :))

Hi Riana - Been up just not on computer. Have  had my days  & nights mixed up. How about making the grands coupon books with coupons like weekend with grandma & grandpa, lunch with grandma/pa, a movie with grandma/ get the drift. The movie date can even be a video at home complete with popcorn, candy, and soda.

One year I didn't know what to do so I bought a large  bowl at the dollar store. Then filled it will bags of microwave popcorn, bags of M&Ms, Bags of peanuts, and bought a couple movies. Made a large label that said "Family night at the movies" . I think I put in packages of kool-aid too. Then I put that shrink wrap on it that you use the hair dryer on. and a bow on top.

Am l the only one up tonight? Couldn't stop thinking about what to get grandkids for Christmas. We were supposed to shop today, but furnace quit, so had to stay home for repaiman. The grands have every toy & book immaginable, and now live in a smaller house, so no playroom. l used to hate getting clothes at Christmas...they all have quilts. In the past , we've donated to wild animal causes in their names & given them a stuffed facimily of tge animal they "helped"... ow out of ideas.

Hello out there! Is anyone awake tonight?

Comment by Linda Koller on October 4, 2014 at 9:49pm

Thanks for telling me, Riana. We are very, very cold today. I was out putting straw around my new roses and one is about to bloom! Got my blueberry bushes taken into the aching back. Picked the green tomatoes. Potted up my green peppers and brought them into the sewing room. Expecting hard frost tonight. Hardly have a voice since I was outside so long.
