I want to use a 100% cotton batting for my quilt. Some are sold with scrim to hold them together and reduce shrinking. Can I hand quilt thru that? Thx!Continue

I totally agree Judy. If I'm tense or stressed, all I have to do is sit down and quilt it away. What type of applique do you do? Hand or machine? Looking forward to seeing pictures of your work.

There is nothing so relaxing as hand quilting. You can just zone out......Hand quilting just molds the design for your quilt & adds a dimpled texture to you design. Everyday quilting gives me great joy. I love to applique garden quilts using the blanket stitch matching thread to the background appliqued piece.Pictures to follow when I get that capability.Happy Quilting,Judy

I just finished the hand quilting on my small whole cloth Christmas design wallhanging last night. This morning I rinsed out the blue quilt marking pen and the quilt is drying.  I hope to get the binding on this weekend.

I love to hand quilt so am very happy to have found this group.  I just finished binding my last hand quilted quilt so now I need to get another one basted.  By the way, I love the avatar for this group.  Gorgeous workmanship!

Since this group is called hand quilting. Is everyone working on a hand quilting project at this time? I just finished a quilt on March 3. I did not get to the binding yet. Next project up is a baby quilt for my newest grandson coming in April. The top is pieced and basted and is just waiting for me to start.

Hello, everyone.  I have only ever hand quilted my quilts.  I machine piece, but prefer to hand applique because I like the results better.
