Are any of you doing the shop hop? If so have you seen the St. Marks Lighthouse and could tell me which shop has it? It is very special to me as I used to volunteer there. Thanks!Continue
You are quite welcome Ethelda. Yes it is very hard to find good quilt shops here in Florida. When I first came down I live in Cocoa Beach area and we had a great shop call the Quilt Shop in Rockledge. In fact they are opening up another one. That is how busy they are there. Yes it is lucky that you can find good shops by you. Mostly I do a lot of my shopping on line. I know a few good websites that I have gotten a lot of nice fabrics from. The other lucky thing for me is my son live in Kentucky with his wife and my granddaughter. When I get a chance to go up and see them it helps me out with a lot of nice quilt shops up in that area including Padauah. If you ever can get to the museum it is wonderful.
Hi. I live in The Villages Lady Lake area. I belong to The Villages Quilt Guild. I was also president of one of our 17 chapters. I see two were talking about quilt shops. I use to go to Whippoorwill all the time and sorry to see them close. There is a new one near Del Webb call Simply Sew. If you know Wildwood Sharkey,s who is a brother dealer also sells nice fabric. Yeah I am sorry to see Peggy go in Ocala. The next closest one is in Mount Dora. Just would like to say hi.
The other shop Ethelda was Whipporrwill Station Carol owned it. She was involved in an accident and left for health reasons for that. Then one was called the Fabric Store in Belleview it's gone also. We have one called Yards and Yarn I forgot about that one.. it's a small one and her prices are good. She sells both fabric and knitting and crocheting items.
I'm in Ocala Florida and two of our quilt shops went out business. The latest was Peggy's Heirlooms of Tomorrow my favorite. Family reasons why both quilt shops left. All that is left is Tomorrow's Treasures..Alot of quilters here.
Of course, my favorite shop is where I work...Sweet Darling Quilts in Lutz, FL...it's on Wesley Chapel Blvd. There's a Shop Hop going on in our area right now...12 shops. Go to www.bayareashophop.com for details.

Hey everyone, " Margie's Sew Much Fun" in Crestview Is having a big anniversary sale starting this Sunday (April 28) at 1 p.m. 42% off the first yard of fabric, then 25% off the rest of your purchase. Everything else, notions, books, machine accessories, is also 25%off. If you live close it might be worth a trip. The sale goes on thru May 4. I don't have a 'ball' in this game ( LOL ) just thought I'd let you know. It is a wonderful shop.
