It is with mixed views regarding the design feature of this months blocks that has delayed the appearance of my blocks.  So far the previous blocks have taught me so much and were very challenging.  Althought this months blocks, I have found the…Continue

Is anybody getting fed up with this waiting???? Well I'm busy doing my zentangles drawing and some quilting.  Mind you, it should be more quilting and less drawing but I'm loving it anyway.  I will be spending most of today quilting anyway?  What…Continue

Interesting choice of fabrics .. and like Diane, will do them in EQ. Some blocks are ok, some blocks I don't like at all. I love dots, stripes, checks, plaids, but I don't like this line.  I took a log cabin class with Flavin Glover a few years ago and we did offset log cabin blocks, was awesome. I will follow the class, but am working hard on finishing UFO's as I have an impending move coming up to Kansas .. ugh. Packing my sewing room .. waaaaahhhhh ...

I've seen many sampler quilts done the way of this years quilt and they all look unbalanced, but that is the beauty of them..because of the way the blocks are set in the quilts each block is showcased in it's own way...I really like the looks of the quilts done that way...very old fashioned.

I agree about the colours but am also concerned about the design. I know there is a need to cover a wide range but it seems very unbalanced to me. I might make the blocks but use them differently.

I'm signed up for the 2013 Craftsy BOM and did the January different fabrics of course.  I strongly dislike the fabrics suggested for this year's sampler quilt.  I'm scratching my head as to what color scheme I want to do.  In the meantime, I'm just taking scraps and doing the blocks.  I'm also making the blocks in EQ7 just in case I want to use them in the future.  Last year I made a baby quilt using just one of the 2012 BOM blocks.

Boo Chura, that is one I had thought of doing but I also got a free pattern download called "Wickedly Easy Quilts" very much like Yellow Brick Road, the basic block is 16" so will grow real quick!!  I have some a collection of greyish homespun fat quarters that would work perfectly...just have to get my hiney in gear to get it cut out...I hate cutting!!

Debra, I signed up, but need a color/fabric  choice.  I highly suggest you consider doing a yellow brick road quilt for neighbor.  Goes really fast!

is anyone else doing the 2013 BOM at Craftsy???  I signed up but we'll see if I can get them done every month.  I am taking an applique BOM class at my LQS and would like to make the neighbor a quilt before March...we'll see how I do!!

Deanna, I love the idea of EQ, just too expensive for me.  I did a king sized quilt years ago made from blocks submitted by my online group.  FMQ of each block was the best way to deal with all the different blocks.  Is there a chat area here?  Where do we go to post pics of projects done.  Sorry to make you my guide, but so far not too familar with this site.
