Is anybody getting fed up with this waiting???? Well I'm busy doing my zentangles drawing and some quilting.  Mind you, it should be more quilting and less drawing but I'm loving it anyway.  I will be spending most of today quilting anyway?  What…Continue

Hi Debra, Thanks for all those kind words of support.  It certainly makes me very happy when people love my projects.  For many years I thought many of my projects weren't very good at all.  Now my attitude has changed due to the many people who have supported me with their kind words and love.  Here is an updated picture of my label which will go on my stepmother's quilt.  Roses for Magda.  The centre of the label came from a book but all the other designs around the edge are all mine.   I'm still obviously working on this I will update you when it's totally finished.  Well I'm off to do some relaxation therapy before I go to bed.  Now we should be able to communicate on a regular basis and really get to know one another until next time Julie.

Julie, love that block.  I too am challenging myself this year....the Craftsy BOM class and the BOM for my Quilt Guild.  I joined a mug rug swap here and I plan on picking 6" blocks from my big block group and making a quilt block for each one.  I have a tendancy to pick way too easy patterns to do so I made a commitment to myself to do better this year!!  Have you considered any of the fabric swaps they have on here...I know I for one would love some Aussie fabric!!  I purchase some through ebay a while back, trying to gather some for a quilt to comemerate my youngest boy's trip to Australia several years back.

Hi ladies, Thanks for making me a member. I can't wait for next months BOM how about you? So to fill in time, even though I don't really have the time. My quilting buddy (Maxine) and I have decided that this lap quilt is too small for both of us. So we have decided to make an additional new block each thursday  to go into our quilts (queen size).  So quite clearly we have challenged ourselves with adding new skills and techniques.  Today we did the spider web block.

It took us several hours to work out how & what we were doing (english paper piecing).  We used a water soluble sheet as our template and boy, did we have a spot of bother.  Can't iron it as heat warps the template sheets. So if you are after perfectly ironed seams this is not a product for you.  Now that my block is almost completed I will be soaking the template away so that I can iron my seams during their joining.  Both Maxine and I won't be using this product again as we like ironing our seams and that it is very flexible and offers no stability.  Hence we both will be using tearaway in future.  So now that I have told you about my great day and my results. Here is my almost complete block would love some feedback.  Thanks Debra for making this a new group here. I'm sure more will join.  I will be encouraging other to join to make this the quilting place to be!!!!  Bye for now, keep safe and happy quilting Julie Beard.
