UFOs

If you're a REAL quilter, you have at least one UFO (unfinished object) and one WIP (work in progress) stashed in the closet or stacked on a shelf. Maybe you just need quilting suggestions, or maybe a fresh eye from a new online friend can help with block arrangements. How about a UFO swap? Any UFO conversation is welcome.

Deanna, I found you a house that should have a good sized sewing room...and a sun porch.  On .6 acres with a separate workshed and 2 car garage.  MLS #15-789, or 46 Timberline in Russell.

The fox is cute, and destination is timely.  I gave a favorite small schoolhouse quilt to a friend in hospice.  I never heard what happened to it.  I'm sure the family was overwhelmed with everything.  I hope someone has it and likes it.

Houses are like pets...they act up while you are gone.

What a cute quilt, Zoe !  l want to try one with cat or dog faces :-) The quiltlines don't show up, but l'm sure Beth did herself proud.

Elizabeth, if you get bogged down, you can send some of them down to me...l don't mind sewing some up for you , since l know you'll donate them to charity. Most of my quilts got to CHEO in your area.

We're home!! The furnace ( new unit 2 yr. ago) failed to restart after a power outage, and our caretaker advised us, but it took a couple of days to get someone out...as a result we have a leak in the upstairs bathroom that became evident after the water was turned on :( Hubby had drained everything before leaving, and he can't figure why enough water was in the upstairs pipes to freeze/damage them. Plumber arrives tomorrow...using water from trailer for now.

Thank you, Zoe.  I've committed myself to finish some of the over 100 UFOs I have so I won't ask you for the pattern.  But I appreciate your offer.  I have over 3/4 of the Dresden Plate quilt machine quilted.  The deadline (self-imposed) is the end of the month to finish it.

Thank you everyone for the nice comments.  Rogue, I love the glasses ! I had thought about it but, since I did the one fabric that was kind of the odd ball, I decided it would be too much.

Elizabeth, if you need a copy send me a PM and your address.

you nailed it, linda! the physical energy needed. we have moved so many times because of hubbies job. i moved frequently before i married my rambling engineer, but when alone the accumulations were small -mainly fabric, vbooks, yarn & sewing/needlework tools & my fw, of course! but a family of three was a different matter. and like you dee, i packed & readied for our move away from my beloved pensylvania w more than a little anger ..hubs company had a office in pottstown & several of our friends worked out of same office.
linda, i hope your move goes well, & i hope your new nieghbors are nice, peaceful folk. good luck my friend.

zoe - cute quilt. a few of the members of my local quilt group have done that pattern so i've seen several quilts made w those foxes. and a mqp place member, vickie smith, also made it. i think it's funny that so far no one has added the glasses to one fox like the pattern cover shows :))

Zoe, I love the fox quilt you made.  The colours are perfect.  I saw a fox quilt at a local quilt shop last week and it used the same pattern but the fox face looked 4 times as big.  They were all sold out of the pattern so I did not see if different sizes were in the pattern.

Zoe - the foxes turned out great.

Dee - I feel the pain. Can't wait to get back home where I can really sew again. I have anger at having been moved unnecessarily and now having to pack up once again so I can move back home. I don't have the physical energy for it all.

As I pack and sort (sewing room doesn't count  hahaha)  I am having a lot of misgivings ~ anger at having to move, I have such peace here .. and looking for a replacement .. I am trying to redirect my focus but am having a difficult time.  I just want to sew something and put my peace back in place.  So tonight I may just do that.  I cut the borders for the two log cabins, must sew more blocks for the second one, square them all, put in rows and get them done.  Have been thinking about how to quilt and have been seeing a diamond shape coming to my eye .. thinking that maybe that is the design it is meant to be.

Am @ work, my case mgr just went to go get us a Papa Murphy pizza, oven is on waiting to get it while we work.  Everyone else is @ a meeting in the other district office so we are on our own.  Working is helping my brain at the moment.

Zoe ~ I think the fox looks great !!
