UFOs

If you're a REAL quilter, you have at least one UFO (unfinished object) and one WIP (work in progress) stashed in the closet or stacked on a shelf. Maybe you just need quilting suggestions, or maybe a fresh eye from a new online friend can help with block arrangements. How about a UFO swap? Any UFO conversation is welcome.

Dee, that REALLY stiff pellon was likely just like the one used for fusing to fabric for window shades...be careful, as once it gets folded/creased , it'll never lie or hang completely flat again. It may be safer to use a thin tight poly like in placemats.

Thanx all .... I am behind on my Gnomes, but they are coming. I think I found the sashing I want to use, but I need to dig for a border. If I use these fabrics, then the backing I wanted to use is out too  lol  Such decisions !

I am almost ready to put the sections of the Advent banner together, sent Linda K a couple pix, but now I have a dilemma.  I found a Pellon stiff interfacing, fusible.  This is REALLY stiff. Should I interface my applique, apply it to the background and THEN use the fusible stiffened pellon ??? This banner will finish @ 42x53 or so and hang for Advent ...

Hi Mary!

Wonderful quilt!  I follow Sindy too and I love her patterns.  I must be slowing down - I haven't had anything to show for a while.

Last night, Hubby and I watched the silliest series on Netflix - The Last Man on Earth.  We saw 3 episodes and it was funny.  I also finished Kate Morton's latest book - The Clockmaker's Daughter. Worthwhile but not an easy read - too many characters shifting through time.

Wow Mary! I wish I was your Secret Sister!! Maybe next year I'll be settled enough to make a quilt for my Secret Sister.

Awww! Sorry Julia, Chef, and Spot aren't moving. Are they staying at church or getting a new home? Maybe I don't want to know. They were so fun.

Dee, I'm exhausted just reading your comments! Love the photos you sent me.

Really sweet quilt, Mary. I see nothing wrong with your quilting.

Gail, l know you can't wait to get set up in your own place, but at least you DO have a place to play there, even if only for a few minutes a day.

Elizabeth, looking forward to seeing butterfly quilt. Freezing rain is the pits. Record breaking cold earlier? How cold was it? Dd never mentioned it.We had a cold snap here too ( had to wear a sweater, lol).

Riana, Thanks for the tips!! It's like having a  new baby in the house. ha ha!

Elizabeth, I'm not a shopper, either. Except if I know just what I'm going for. Went to Kohls and bought a few things but had to take back some gifts that I wasn't sure my gd would like. They gave me an in store credit. So I bought my daughter a hat and scarf for her birthday and with all my cash backs coupons and sales and in store credits, it only cost me 24cents. COOL!!

Gail, So far I have my confusion  organized. ha ha ha!! I can take it a step at a time. The first thing coming over is the midarm because I have that room ready. etc...etc....

Finished for my Secret Santa Sister.  Please don't look at the free motion machine quilting in the bottom borders.  It is meant for reading and napping under, so the bottom will be wayyyy down there.

Way too yellow, but at least I got it to print.

Barbara, sounds like organized confusion to me.  I am in a similar situation.  At my daughter's house I have one machine out and am trying to get some things done.  This is always my busiest time of year, sewing for Christmas, can't get much done, stuff is packed up everywhere.  Can't wait to get in our apartment Dec. 14.

Deanna, QOV quilt is beautiful.
