UFOs

If you're a REAL quilter, you have at least one UFO (unfinished object) and one WIP (work in progress) stashed in the closet or stacked on a shelf. Maybe you just need quilting suggestions, or maybe a fresh eye from a new online friend can help with block arrangements. How about a UFO swap? Any UFO conversation is welcome.

Didn't know you were doing the Mystery Quilt.  Last year's was fun, even if I'm not fond of the product.

Our Desert Quilters had their quilt show this past weekend.  I volunteered as a "white glove" quilt turner … my legs were sure tired after my 4 hour marching up / down the aisles making sure hands were not on the quilts.  Didn't have a "vintage or used room" so I just had to buy a few "new" things.  A cute pattern of snowmen for a runner or table topper or wall hanging (my sister loves snowmen), fabric to add to my "Murder Mystery Quilt" … saw lots and lots but I refrained!

What a great haul.  My local quilt show is next month, and I always spend within .50 of $100. at their used everything room.  It is a running joke as I fill my "Little Old Lady Bag" on wheels with whatever appeals-the total is always the same.

Went to a quilt show in Napanee yesterday. Found a vintage thread keeper to match one l already own! Plus a used mag. & a chicken pattern :-)) my new purchases were the bag of bobbins and the pineapple trim tool. There were some gorgeous quilts on display...a great way to spend a cold rainy afternoon.

Mary that is awesome. You are so good at bringing unsusual pieces of fabric together and making them sing. Love that quilt!

Mary, that quilt will be such a hit!  I think that it will sell lots of tickets.  It just has a different look to it - not the same kind of quilt people are used to.

Barbara, I saw a gorgeous fall quilt today on Scrap Quilt Enthusiasts.  It was an American Beauty Quilt all done in fall colours.

And Riana, I knew that you wouldn't be sitting at home doing nothing! LOL.  I trimmed the sides of the Pony Express Quilt and started making the binding (while running scraps through my machine for pieced 12 1/2" backing blocks.)

Barbara, you don't need leaves or pumkins in the fabrics...just choose rich tonal prints in the fall COLORS ( deep rust, tan, deep olive, burnt orange) and a light golden background, then make the quilt a leaf pattern or pumkins...whatever.

whimsy, drama, mystery, truth and fiction, all wrapped up in one quilt. I have to do another raffle quilt for this fall, but I haven't yet been able to find the fall fabric I am looking for. I checked out several places and the fall fabric is scarce.

Love it, Mary...such a whimsical look.

Elizabeth, l did bring another set of ufo's home, but the ones on the design wall will all be togethef ( along with other pieces) in one quilt.
