If you're a REAL quilter, you have at least one UFO (unfinished object) and one WIP (work in progress) stashed in the closet or stacked on a shelf. Maybe you just need quilting suggestions, or maybe a fresh eye from a new online friend can help with block arrangements. How about a UFO swap? Any UFO conversation is welcome.

Great quilting on your place mats, Kris! In the days of common hand quilting the measurement between lines of stitching was done by a finger width. Just a little trivia that I always think of when I see this quilting pattern.

Thanks Kris. One of my students in Fla. has a set. She was having difficulty using them. Any tips l can pass on to her?

Riana, I was using the Westalee Circles on Quilts ruler.  Love those templates!

Hi Kris,

Very nice placemats!  I used to hand quilt Baptist Fans and I still have the stencil I made in mylar with a hot tool to make the grooves for marking.  On the weekend I finished a quilt top of my orphan blocks.

Wow , Zoe, great job quilting those baptist fans! Are you using a curved ruler for these? If so, which brand?

Threw together some placemats out of left overs so I could practice quilting the Baptist Fan pattern.  I think I can do my Square Dance quilt now.  Hmm...picture not wanting to load.  I'll try it again later.
