UFOs

If you're a REAL quilter, you have at least one UFO (unfinished object) and one WIP (work in progress) stashed in the closet or stacked on a shelf. Maybe you just need quilting suggestions, or maybe a fresh eye from a new online friend can help with block arrangements. How about a UFO swap? Any UFO conversation is welcome.

Happy Thanksgiving! This holiday season is hard without my Indy but God will see me thru it. I'm sure Indy will receive lots of turkey today!

Zoe, I have a Roku tv with those channels. Acorn is a paid subscription. I dropped my Hallmark subscription which is fine...I don't miss it. Pluto has a two Christmas movie channels and a romance movie channel besides 007 and British TV....all for free! Plus I can binge watch some of the older programs I love like Walker, Texas Ranger, MacGuyver, Leverage, Jag, and others.

Riana, love that turquoise fabric!

Happy Thanksgiving to eveyone and your families.  We are having a quiet one here at home, just Hubby and I.  It will be very different from what we are used to, but just to be safe and still be here to celebrate next years holidays it's what we need to do.  It does seem kind of strange since it's the first time in 60+ years that I haven't cooked a big meal with all the trimmings.

Zoe, love those prints. I think you can use some of the ideas quilters have on pinterest for the Kaffe Fawcette prints...those are large and colourful too.

I bought some fabric 2 weeks ago, and except for fleece to back daughter's housewarming quilt, it's the first purchase since l got home from Fla. in late March! It was on sale for $5/m, and l spent less than $80. on the lot. I've sewn the entire scrap contents from bins shown in photo plus many strips from other bins, trying to take it easy on my stash of larger size pieces, which have always been somewhat limited.

Barbara, I was on the phone when I read your response and I had a hard time containing my laughter ! I know I even said that too ! Then I thought, will 2021 is not here yet, so it is okay ! lol

I will see what I have left over should anyone want some, this will be a dizzy quilt, but full of fun neat patterns that will keep me awake should I need that ..lol

Linda, so many of the stations I have not heard of, guess I need to start checking the TV out more.

I have plans to a bunny quilt for an older friend and on this fun fabric find, I was able to get the backing for it for 1/2 off ! It is pretty with rabbits in a field.

Darn, I still have two ufo's on the board, one in the closet, and now two more new ones.. and this does not include the several kits I have in the closet it too. If we get snowed in ( Florida) then I will have lots to keep me busy !

Oh to have PBS again! However, between Pluto, Raku, Acorn tv and YouTube I still get my fix of Poirot, Agatha Christie, and Sherlock Holmes. Pluto just added British TV....yipee! Altho some of it, I'm not thrilled with. They also added 007....oh YES!! Haven't started bingeing on those yet....lol.

Interesting fabrics, Zoe. I haven't been on that type of fabric shopping binge in forever!

Oh, Barbara, I look at all the fabric I have and sayI NEED TO USE THIS UP BEFORE I BUY MORE, but than I decide I need another piece because I just NEED IT.  I must say that this Covid has pretty much put a stop o some of this behavior.  I have finished up a lot of smaller projects, throws, palens and table runners.  I love doing things I can do in my lap because I love to hand quilt and of course lots of bindings.

Aoe, I just love those Australian fabrics, very unusual and pretty.

I love the Aboriginal fabrics! So novel and unexpected and colorful! Any pattern that has large pieces in the blocks would be good - this woven pattern is a good one, Snowball is another. A large scale 4 patch, rail fence...lots of possiblities! I am jealous of the deal you found!

Barbara, I do take breaks and days off, I just keep trying to get things in order so that I can keep things up without too much trouble.

Today I went to the fabric store for 2 fabrics, they cost me $225.00 ! Okay, when I got there they were having 50% off of any fabric dated 2018 or earlier, 30% off of 2019... so I found these for me. Most 50% off. Australian Aboriginal fabrics.

When I got involved in the Fire Tree blocks for Australia, I saw this fabric and fell in love with them. I saw this pattern that someone else made with their stash and I might be good for one quilt. What is this pattern ?    Image   I did find the fabrics I went for, and then also got fabric for a yet to start quilt for the backing.  If you all have any other ideas on a quilt for these fabrics, let me know. I decided to buy a few more that I really love online
