If you're a REAL quilter, you have at least one UFO (unfinished object) and one WIP (work in progress) stashed in the closet or stacked on a shelf. Maybe you just need quilting suggestions, or maybe a fresh eye from a new online friend can help with block arrangements. How about a UFO swap? Any UFO conversation is welcome.

We agree, Liz. The news can be very dark and nice to turn it off and put on some beautiful music.

Barbara, our newspaper had an article today about "The Crown" and all the fictional events the writer has added and the consensus is that Netflix should add a disclaimer about the fiction because viewers think the events were reality.  Hubby and I watch a lot of PBS documentaries also.

T.V. brings so much sadness into our homes with the news.  It is good that there are distracting, interesting programs to take our minds away from reality.  I can't read now as I used to with my eye problem.  Sewing scraps keep me busy and I don't have to worry if the seam is straight or not.

Zoe, sorry to hear that you are not well.  But I'm amazed at how much you tackle and how hard you work at things.

Zoe, so sorry for the suffering you have been in. You're a worker bee. It must be hard to keep you down,

Liz, I have watched a few documentaries of Lady Jane Grey. And Some of Henry the 8th's wives. THe Holocaust, Hitler, and some other countries that also  had great distruction. There has been a lot of evil in this world. I also am intrigued by the monarchy but don't spend a lot of time on it. Love the hats they wear at every great occasion. Did read a book about Golda Meir one of the  Zionist. I've forgotten much of what I read and should read it again. Just remember it was most interesting. I'm not as knowledgeable as I would like to be I guess that is why I like watching historic documentaries. The "Crown" sounds to be something very interesting. Looks like a nice quilt is coming soon.

Hi All,

I have been trying to get caught up on all that I have been putting off. Last week I got a pressure washer and I along with another helper did all of the driveway and the walkway in the back yard. It was way more work than I realized, we did it all in 2 days and 4 gallons of gas. They county was about to read the water for the next few months to average the sewer rate. The day I was almost done, my EOE acted up and I could not get food or water down for 10 hours. I ate soft foods for a few days and added more medication and so far fine. The next day was my mom's birthday and a few neighbors took her a few things, it was nice but I had really hoped that they would have called her up and just talked with her.

I have been busy getting Christmas gifts sent off, postage is crazy !!  The the past few days I have been making pillow cases for kids, some I told them about and some I don't know them , just a family member told me of their situation, so we are adding to their Christmas this year.

I am enjoying seeing all that you all are making, I am just not on here much right now.

Riana, I did a wallhanging based on the same lighthouse a while back in a workshop with Ann Bird, one of Canada's most famous quilters.  I just recently sold it.  Amazing how Canadian lighthouses and covered bridges can be so heart-warming?  National treasures, I think.  Americans like their lighthouses and covered bridges too - must be the same feeling.  They are national land marks.

I have been tempted to make a travel quilt too with places I've visited in North America and Worldwide.  It might be an interesting group project if we made a quilt each with places we ourselves had visited and share patterns or even fabric.  Quilt could be as big or small as we wanted so as not to interfere with each other's priorities.

Barbara, The Crown is a movie based in truth (who really knows).  So many of my friends are monarchists and adore the monarchy  so we used to discuss the Royals, their children, their clothes, and love lives frequently (every time we got together).  I am not a monarchist but they fascinate me, I confess.  I did not realize that 5 members of the late Queen Mother's family had serious mental issues and 2 had been falsley declared death when they were really living in mental institutions.  Another aspect of the show is the portrayal of Margaret Thatcher by Gillian Anderson, an acting tour de force.  My husband enjoyed watching it too.

Riana, I love the Place Mats and Light House Block. Did you add the birds to the sky by free motion or was it in the sky pattern fabric? So glad the lost has been found.

Gramma Elf, Good Work!!

Liz & Gail Is the "Crown" a movie or documentary? We have been watching more documentaries lately. I'm not interested much in movies that are not true or based on truth. If we watch, afterwards we say, "that was a waist of time." There are some very interesting movies that are based on true events that are most interesting.

Wood Island lighthouse, PEI  Now that l have the center done, and l'm ready for  a border, l'm beginning to wonder if using this as a door hanging is such a good idea after all. I noticed my collection of " travel fabric" , collected on trips to Netherlands, Hawaii, across Canada and through US states, has not been growing. Indeed, it's starting to shrink, as l ' borrow' from it for projects. Since we're no longer going to be travelling to exotic places, NOW may the perfect time to finally make my " travel " quilt.
