UFOs

If you're a REAL quilter, you have at least one UFO (unfinished object) and one WIP (work in progress) stashed in the closet or stacked on a shelf. Maybe you just need quilting suggestions, or maybe a fresh eye from a new online friend can help with block arrangements. How about a UFO swap? Any UFO conversation is welcome.

I've given up on the lost hearing aid, and am ordering a new at beginning of week. It's weird when l walk outdoors and hear only things in one direction, lol. Luckily, hubby 's armchair is to left of mine, and he usually drives, so still on my left. I do hear out of my right ear, but tinitus disguises the sounds.

Good luck to Liz tomorrow as she's getting those painful ingrown lashes of lid seen too...sending positive vibes ~~~~~~~

Wilma , the song " l can see clearly now the rain has gone..." must be playing in your head. I know what you mean about the frustration your mom can't contain, as my grandma did the same in her last months. It's painful to not be recognized, and more yet that one is unable to help. But being alone would be worse for her, so you are giving your mom exactly what she needs most.

I am glad to hear about the success on your procedure, Wilma. Sorry to hear about the struggles with your mother.

Sorry, to hear that the hearing aid is still a no show, Riana.

Wilma, thank you.  I sold Janice the pillow today and she gave me a box of Lindt minature chocolates plus the $20.  Chocolates must have been for the Halloween wall hanging I gave her last month.  I would hate to overcharge someone.

So happy that your eyes are good again.  I think you will notice an improvement in your sight when you get new glasses.  So sorry that your Mom is having a hard time.  My Mom would hit me (not hard) when she would get frustrated with me but she also told everyone we encountered when we walked the halls that I was the best daughter ever.  She passed in 2005 and I miss her.

Love the pillow Liz.  The quilt will be just as pretty.  Thought I would update all.  Had my eye procedure on Tuesday, how wonderful to see clearly again.  Have to wait 3 weeks before I can go to eye doc for glass updates.  Maybe I won’t need a change.  Mom isn’t doing well.  We have been permitted in-room visitations with her.  We stay for about 2 hours and help feed her etc.  So sad to see such a dramatic decline.  Very difficult on her as she gets frustrated and screams when she cannot convey what she wants.  I just hate dementia.  Hope to get back to my projects.

It must be quiet at your house, Riana.  It is like here before Doug puts his hearing aids in and after they are out.  More hours of silence than when conversation can take place.

Zoe, l was just thinking that the replacement ... (sigh, it's been a week with no luck ) will need to be taped or wired to my glasses, lol. I've seen people have frames with their hearing aids attatched ( ugly frames, unfortunayely)... so the clip looks like something l could try. I'll ask when l go for fitting. Zoe, did you know that after time, your brain forgets how to interpret some sounds? When you put off wearing hearing aids too long, you risk losing even more frequency orientation. In short...you can then hear them but brain discards... so it makes a huge difference. Get your hearing aids reprogrammed to your present condition, and get used to wearing them! I hated mine at first, they hurt top of ears after long hours.l got used to them by wearing about 4 hr, then 6, then 8 and so on.

Riana, I have not been wearing my hearing aids, but I recall my mom getting this for her husband, Hearing Aids Accessories - Know Feature, Cost & Where To Buy This is for a child, but it is a hearing aid clip and helps so if one falls out it is still connected.  I understand how frustrating this is.

No luck. Pretty sure it's not in the house, as l had both after l put mask around neck and got in the car ( seriously...l check after putting that on, because they can get caught on it). l've  searched the car, and left tel # at a store l was in. But l was also walking Molly down the road and in the woods , to the mailbox at end of our drive, and out to hubby's woodworking shop at back of yard. I keep looking everywhere l go...and yes, l've asked Jakie, but he usually leaves his mangled " finds" in the middle of livingroom floor. Snowball's too lazy to do anything but nap and eat.
