If you're a REAL quilter, you have at least one UFO (unfinished object) and one WIP (work in progress) stashed in the closet or stacked on a shelf. Maybe you just need quilting suggestions, or maybe a fresh eye from a new online friend can help with block arrangements. How about a UFO swap? Any UFO conversation is welcome.

We've been getting a lot of smoke from the CA fires for the past 2 weeks. Because I have asthma/COPD I've had to give up going to the pool for water aerobics. We now have some wildfires here in AZ as well. We are in severe drought conditions due to lack of rain the past 2 monsoon seasons. The shift of winds is suppose to clear our air quality by the end of the week; but this is not good for California fires. We've also dropped out of triple digit temperatures into the high 90's with night time temps in the low 70's....better sleeping weather.

Yes , Liz applecores on back of Layla's quilt are the combined leftovers after her cutting/ sewing for front...after l cut those out, there were small ends left over where the die didn't reach. So l straight cut those to strips, and stitched to spent dryer sheets, then put them thru the Baby Go cutter again. No waste, as  corners left after that go into pet beds for animal shelter.l keep a grocery bag hanging on the end of my cutting table. As soon as l finish cutting a project, scraps between 1" and 2" go there. No small slivers of fabric, and no batting, as those are choking hazzards. Stressed animals sometimes chew.

Liz, I have been doing virtual classes through They are in Utah.  They have several free classes, lots of embroidery classes, some hand embroidery classes and specific projects.  Some are free, others reasonable.  The Christmas Club is all sewing...

Wilma, your remodelling project sounds so nice!  We have  thought about a reno of our kitchen, then decided we were too old to worry about it.  Where did you find free virtual classes?  I have seen some virtual classes that charge and I was afraid to enroll because I might be too dumb to get the technology right and I would end up with nothing. LOL

Riana, are you doing scrappy apple cores for the back of Layla's quilt?  All Right!

Layla picked out border fabric for her top. Now l'm busy salvaging scraps ( and scraps of scraps!) for the back.

Mary, l'd be grumbling too. My dd and family in Santa Cruz had poor air from  their own area fires, and now the smoke from Oregon & Wa. are polluting the air. They're stuck inside with air cleaner unit running. Pretty hard on the 4 yr. old.

Wilma, you sure are making good use of your time!

Well, I finally caught up reading all the events on MQP.  You have all been busy.  Zoe stay safe during this next hurricane.

Things have been hectic here.  Vacation 2 (also cancelled) became a remodel to kitchen.  Actually just removed all the granite (dark brownish) and changed to Quartz (grayish veins/white) with mini beveled subway tile backsplash.  Replaced 14 yo appliances.  What a mess, but we decided to stay here until mom passes and then decide what to do.  Kept my cherry cabinets, so think this is a a good upgrade for future potential sale.  Tomorrow they install dishwasher, finally arrived.

Each of you have produced some beautiful quilts, pillows and other items.  I am working on a bench pillow and finished up a small Welcome pineapple, will be teaching a class for FW group on the 21st.  Will take grandson’s quilt with me so I have a big area to make the cut to add photos of motorcycle (no he didn’t send me photos) pics I found of him will be used...tough if he doesn’t like them...and get this PHD finished.

Weather is finally cooling here in NV.  Hope the air clears, when the wind shifts the smoke from all the fires in Utah, Washington, Oregon and California find their way here to Nevada.  Try not to go out.  Talked to my brother yesterday, he lives in Washington, and he said the air is terrible.  They have no AC and had to buy a big filtration system for air cleaner and a window AC for bedroom.  Fires are not close to him, thank goodness.  Son in CA says they are getting smoke also when wind changes.  So sad for so many.  Mary, I hope you are staying safe.

Have been taking a lot of virtual classes.  Some are free, others not but are reasonable.  Like the fact they are recorded and we get a link the next day.  Great way to be reminded of techniques.  For next 7 Monday’s will do Christmas Club...last night made binder covers.  Great idea.  Next week is a Christmas tree napkin.  People from as far as UK are joining, amazing way to learn embroidery, sewing, etc. during these times.

Everyone stay safe, healthy and keep on quilting/sewing/embroidery, etc.

Thank you Elizabeth !

Sally went to a CAT 1, has not come onshore yet, but will be by Gulf Shore. We are getting some rain, some light wind right now.  I moved most of the lawn furniture under the deck, I guess I need to move the benches too?? Our home sits low. What worries me the most if some of the tall pines by the home, I would rather be in Walmart..., which is not saying much.
