Oh Zoe, I do admire you.  I rather wish we had a picture to put to him.

As you know, I have been venturing out in the knitting internet world.  Many similarities to the quilting, including angst about the size of their yarn stashes and trying to downsize in general.

Yesterday the Minimalist Challenge was explained: 

Day 1: Re-home one thing ; Day 2: Re-home two things; Day 3: Re-home three things...and so on for the month.  There was some discussion of how to count skeins of yarn-individually or by project. This feels like a New Year's resolution. I have to admit I am looking at my house in terms of moving eventually or worse some relative having to clean it out.

The walking trails would be a great suggestion Zoe! You'd be in public, but have a further chance to connect. Hope he liked the cookies themselves :-))

Riana, the bears are cute !

Okay, all want to know how the delivery went of the cookies today?? I thought about what you all said, so I went out and bought a nice glass container and put the cookies in there. This way, as you all stated I can go back to pick the container back up. He noticed I had cute my hair, and invited me to set down and talk. We talked about an hour before I needed to leave due to my mom's dog needing to go to the Vet today- a tooth that must be pulled next week.. It seemed like we had a nice time and he told me I could pick up the container next week, but I told him I did not know when I would be back.. which is true.  He can find my phone number as he has it in his computer from past records.  I did not do more on asking him to call or anything, just left it alone. He did state that he loves to walk, casual walks, which I do too.. but I like to walk to get exercise in too.  So, should I take a Christmas card to him ( a fun one) and write in there that if he would enjoy checking out some trails sometime to give me a ring or email?

I was going to spread out my PHD project for the whole year.  I am going to do 2 pieced blocks in January, then continue with my UFOs.  That way the PHD project would get priority every month.  Didn't phone CT today.  Lots of will power.

Ginny, I have a box of fabric from Texas with some bluebonnets and coordinating fabric.  I did download Part 1.  I follow Bonnie everyday.  So I could make this quilt without buying anything except batting (if I live long enough, which I'm planning to do!)

Gail, this is not the Thimbleberries pattern.  This is a 16" Pansy panel in the centre of a quilt with different configurations of an 8" block.  It will be 64 x 64. My daughter once commissioned a quilting surprise basket for me.  It had a panel in it with all sizes of pansies to put on a t-shirt, a demin jacket etc.  I fused them to fabric and did a hand blanket stitch around them.  And I picked fabric from my purple stash with pinks, yellows and aquas to do the blocks.  I also am making a scrap pieced backing for it.  This may not be what you thought I was making but it is very typical for what I usually turn out!

Great quilt, Riana! I've seen this done with snowmen, too! Adaptable for many applications to make a quilt bigger. Thanks for the inspiration
