If you're a REAL quilter, you have at least one UFO (unfinished object) and one WIP (work in progress) stashed in the closet or stacked on a shelf. Maybe you just need quilting suggestions, or maybe a fresh eye from a new online friend can help with block arrangements. How about a UFO swap? Any UFO conversation is welcome.

Riana, those placemats look good!  They are fun to make.  I'm going to make some too for Christmas.

Zoe, glad you were assertive!

I'm making placemats for " meals on wheels" organizatikn in our nearby town. They've requested single placemats with Christmas theme one side and " every day" subject on reverse to include with their special Christmas Day delivefy. Such kind souls.

Mary I love those calls, funny how they know more about us than we do.

Gail, I am so glad you had others there to advocate for you and that you got the right type of help. Setting is hurting me, so no sewing till the pain is better.

Thank you Elizabeth, it was not fun.

This whole ordeal made me realize how much control they can have over you if you have no one to help you. I have no one here but my mom and she is unable to drive, so she was concerned how she too would manage. I have called the hospital to talk about the ER doctor. I have also realized that it seems from this end that none of my family ( nieces or nephews) will be there for me. If this seems to be a pattern, then I will leave what I have to a dog rescue.. in time.

On the topic?  Just got a telemarketing call confirming that I was suffering from pain in my back and lower knees.  I'm going to worry about my lower knees all day.

Zoe,I  am so sorry for your awful experience.  I had a similar one several years ago.  I fell at home and couldn't move my self to a chair or really off the floor.  My husband tried to get me up and couldn't.  He called my daughter and grand daughter to help. They managed to get me to a chair and called 911.  ER doctor saw nothing on the x-rays.  They tried to send me home, I couldn't even get into the wheelchair. I made them call my orthapedic doc, he saw along crack in my femur so I was admitted and transferred to a therapy hospital for almost two weeks.  I was not able to put any weight on that leg for almost two months and was hopping around on a walker.  The up side was there wasn't much I could do but sew.  It was a pretty productive time for me since I had a good excuse for not doing anything else, like house work etc.

It can be impossible to make people believe in your pain.

Zoe, hope all is well now.  No more electrical work?

Oh Zoe, what an awful experience!   I'm glad that you did get some treatment and I hope that you are O.K. now.

Hi ladies,  I had a nightmare so to speak. Last Thursday I was trying to repair my treadmill as I have done this a few times, but this time I failed to not consider there might be a hot wire. The power that went through me was strong and I pulled back. I did not know it then, but I had twisted my back. I could not walk, crawl or anything and I just laid on the floor.  I was able to get to a phone and called for a ambulance. So they show up then the guy wants me to hop on the gurney, I stated I could not.  Then he tried to lift me as I screamed in pain to put me down ! I eventually inch over and pull myself on the gurney. btw, he has been reported now. So, I get to the ER where the doctor did xrays then found nothing and said in a condescending manner she was going to discharge me.  I could not even set up ! I told her I was not leaving. The nurse that was helping me found her boss for me and he too in time tried to discharge me, but eventually I got admitted.  It took till Saturday when the PT woman came and realized I was out of alignment and fixed me. I got back to walking yesterday.  The woman ER doctor I will be reporting as well.  I was so shocked to realize that here I was in pain and needed help and everyone ( just about) was treating me so bad.  This really is not a feel sorry for me post , but realize this can happen to any of us. Anyways, Stay well !!
