If you're a REAL quilter, you have at least one UFO (unfinished object) and one WIP (work in progress) stashed in the closet or stacked on a shelf. Maybe you just need quilting suggestions, or maybe a fresh eye from a new online friend can help with block arrangements. How about a UFO swap? Any UFO conversation is welcome.

I am also hoping that Linda and Indie have as easy a move as is possible. I hope I do not have to do that again anytime soon. Cross country moves are a Bear!

Thanks, Gail B.

I am not a professional by any stretch of the word, Barbara. I do tend to pre-wash and color-set colors that are notorious bleeders. Haven't had any issues doing it that way.

Praying for and thinking about Linda and Indy today.  Hope she has some help with her move.  We moved 3 years ago this month with a lot of help, but it was still a job and it wasn't long distance.

Deanna, good for you getting everything organized.  I do that about every 2 years.  I think some gremlins get in there at night and mess everything up so I can't find what I want because I know I had a special place for everything.  I have looked every where but can't find any "Gremlin Repellent" any where.  My hubby says it's me. He says when I get one of those "I've got a great idea" moments I start shuffling things around and I don't put them away.  I don't believe him though.  Hey, maybe it's him trying to keep me confused.

Great going to the ribbon winners.

Prayers for Linda and Indy, it's a big step to take all alone.

Thanks to Ginny and Dee. I still have a few lines of quilting to do. I could not find Ivory Snow, but Walmart sells Dreft for newborns hypoallergenic, trusting that it will be mild on the fabric. It was good fabric. I will use the shout. I had a red quilt and soaked it in vinegar  several times and it still ran in the wash. It is now one of my UFOs. I then used shout on another quilt and it took about four sheets of shout to work.  It's good to get your professional opinions. Thanks again.

Praying for Linda and Indy today for recovery and safe landings !!

Barbara, I prewash fabrics, use a shout color catcher if need be, with reds and navy especially, AND sometimes a vinegar rinse.  Then after a finish I always wash again (even before the quilt show). I have been handling that top for months and you never know what I got on it :)

Organizing my sewing room still more ~ got all my PIZLBs stacked better, made a spot for charm packs/coordinating rolls AND my FQs to 1/2 yards in a small section of shelf AND all my fabric except for Christmas, baby and scraps is now in the sewing room.  That says a LOT !  Now to make something tonight !  Thinking something that is almost 'finished'  lol

<back to work>

Thinking of Linda and Indy today...hope her move to Arizona went well. Likely it'll take a few days for her to recover from all that work, and also to get her internet up & computor unpacked. On my moves, the kitchen had to be unpacked first, but the sewing room was always a close second, lol.

Thanks, Carla!

Barbara, you need to trust that you have done your project the way it needs to be done to insure that it will survive washing. Quilts are made to be washed, you know! :c))

To answer your question, Barbara, sometimes I wash them and sometimes I don't and I use my regular laundry soap, but less, on a gentle cycle. I know I should probably use a different soap, but like you, I haven't found the kind of soap that is recommended very easy to find. Have you checked on-line for the soap?

Thank you, Dee, Barbara, and Riana! The quilt has one more stop at our local quilt show next month and then they will receive it at Christmas.

Ginny, l'll bet your sister can't wait to get the quilt once it's done showing at the fair :-)
