Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
Tiny Town is our safe haven when life gets crazy. We are all healthy and happy here, because we know our neighbours and friends living here are quilters too. To buy a small house in Tiny Town, you must perform one random act of kindness , and to buy a larger home ( 2 chimnies), you'll be performing 2 random acts of kindness. All houses have large sewing rooms, and have been built to last.Large homes have storage for more stash, but smaller homes have bigger yards. Here you can have housemates from your past, alive or otherwise, your present spouce ( only if you wish, lol) as well as pets from past or present. I know you will be responsible pet owers and thoughtfull neighbours, because this is just that kind of place. Only houses on the back are for sale.

Ok Wilma, now you've got me hungry for those...will you share the recipe?
Love lemon meringue pie! My mom made the best when I was a kid.
A huge bowl of lemons turned into...just out of the oven!
I am a believer in cubed watermelon and lots of lemonade.
May be gone for a few weeks but wanted to get this in case I am not back when you make the date.
Happy Birthday to all the July Birthday people and have a nice picnic.
Our temps have been the same as Riana's here in Wisconsin. It was very cold this morning. Made me feel like we needed to turn on the heat. But I just put a some warmer clothes.
I will bring a Birthday Cake for the BIrthday Girls. And maybe some polish dish of some sort. I don't think the corn is going to be ready to pick for maybe 2 months.
Here in Santa Cruz it's been a chilly couple of days, starting at 51 f a.m. and only 68 in pm. Later this week a heatwave is forecast, but l have yet to wear my shorts! By 7 pm daily a cool " breeze" comes off the ocean, and l'm in a fleece sweater. Personally, looking forward to something around 80 ( my favourite temperature).
Willma, you can grow the peppermint in a pot here in the west. Ribs in the slow cooker are making me hungry!
Do we have a date for the party yet? I'm still trying to decide what I'll contribute to the picnic.
Yesterday I baked a lemon cake...yummy! Our lemon season just ended. I froze a lot of lemon juice from all the free lemons I got from a neighbor down the street. With our excessive heat I drink a lot of lemon water to keep my electolytes up. With kidney disease I dehydrate easily and can't drink gatorade or like drinks. My bp has also been below normal with the heat and I'm sleeping a lot. We were ordered to raise our thermostats to help prevent power outages, but since it was affecting my bp, I've had to turn mine back down some. I have my ceiling fans and a floor ocsillating fan running when I'm in those rooms.
You are making me hungry. We have a Meyer lemon tree also, but no fruit yet. It is young, so hoping next year, we also planted a orange tree, so maybe next year it will produce some fruit. Next year we may have oranges, lemons and apricots. Have no luck with other stuff due to weather. Although I have a fresh Rosemary bush and a bay leaf tree. Did plant some peppermint a few years back, it took over so had to remove….Rosemary seems to spout up everywhere so have to control it. Maybe I will put some ribs in the slow cooker for the party.
Daughter says her lemon tree is a Meyer lemon, giving 2 or 3 crops annually. It can be pruned to stay small, Mary. The lemons are very juicy and the skins aren't too thick.
I wonder if that kind of tree would grow in my sunroom. We seem to be using lemons in almost everything we a cooking these days.
I thought fruit trees were all a one season growing thing. I would never have thought that it was continuous! Learn something new every day!
I will have to think on what I want to bring to the corn rosating shin-dig! Do we have a date?
Ginny, this tree has lemons ripening all year long! There are blossoms at odd intervals. The tree was mature when Tina & family moved in 3 yr. ago. I have fresh lemonade every day :-))
A corn roast usually has corn both on bbq in foil ( or husk- wrapped in charcoal pit), or boiling in water in large caldron or huge " canning" pots... plus a huge pot of brown beans , usually supplied by hosts. The rest is definitely pot luck.
To this Northern gal, citrus trees of any kind is such an amazing thing. Are these ripe?
I don't know what a corn roasting party involves but I am in. Is it a potluck style gathering?
Beautiful lemons. I do not have a green thumb and have tried several times to grow fruit. Blueberries, black berries, strawberries. I have failed several times. I gave up. To tired to try again. Oh I forgot I did grow some rhubarb. Riana your daughters lemons are fantastic. Would like to have a bite of one of those tarts.
This pic is a riot! LOL
