Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
Tiny Town is our safe haven when life gets crazy. We are all healthy and happy here, because we know our neighbours and friends living here are quilters too. To buy a small house in Tiny Town, you must perform one random act of kindness , and to buy a larger home ( 2 chimnies), you'll be performing 2 random acts of kindness. All houses have large sewing rooms, and have been built to last.Large homes have storage for more stash, but smaller homes have bigger yards. Here you can have housemates from your past, alive or otherwise, your present spouce ( only if you wish, lol) as well as pets from past or present. I know you will be responsible pet owers and thoughtfull neighbours, because this is just that kind of place. Only houses on the back are for sale.

Chew toys! LOL He's only 9 weeks old when he arrives. He already had 2 Lamb Chops waiting but Havanese are known for loving their Lamb Chops....ROFLOL! They also love toys with squeekers in them.
Oh what fun!! Ask the breeder what kind of toys He likes???
Yay...Tiny Town residents are all invited to a puppy shower for Linda! Time/ dates to follow.
A puppy shower sounds like so much fun, Riana! The girls at Bible study insist I bring him each week and they want to have a party too. LOL!!! I just found out today that my DIL talked to the breeder and she may be able to pick him up on the evening of the 27th instead of the 29th. That would put them arriving here the morning of the 28th. Dates aren't set in stone just yet tho. If you tentatively want to have the party on the afternoon of the 28th then my grandkids Mila and Joshua could join in too....that is if the breeder releases Rocky on the 27th. I'll get back to you as soon as I have a set date. Otherwise, set the party for the following weekend after Rocky has been here for a week. I'll have lots of photos by then.
Liz, you are much taller than l, so you can carry a bit extra wt.. I'm 5'6" now ( l swear l was 1" taller 5 yr ago!). If it takes tying to the equipment to make you finish...then bravo! Maybe we should do that to some of our ufo procrastinators, lol! I finished binding the doggie quilt.
How is everyone in Tiny Town? I think we should throw Linda K a puppy shower! She's going to be a mommy again!
I started machine quilting the Noah's Ark Quilt. Macska jumped up and got up really close to where I was quilting. Not safe for him to be so close to the machine and the iron. I prefer if he stands on the ironing board and looks over my shoulder. He started to play with his little mouse and I was happy that I have got him to play. He came up on the bed this morning and I moved my fingers under the sheet the he made a great game out of trying to catch me.
Riana, I think you are at an attractive weight. I try to stay at 160. I treat myself to some calorie laden food now and then. I have double chocolate muffins right now and I love to heat one up and enjoy! My exercise man has added 3 more stretching exercises. He ties me to the chair and at the treadmill. Kinky, eh! He would shake his head if he knew I told you. But I am grateful that I am getting these treatments and have the possibility to get stronger.
Breakfast is a meal l either forget to eat altogether ( too busy sewing or gardening), or l have a " trucker's breakfast"... eggs, maybe ham or turkey bacon, or sometimes pancakes with real maple syrup...last week we picked blueberries, and they are devine in pancakes. I do eat light the rest of the day, lol. My weight for the past 40 yr hovers around 145, so l get to wear same clothes for absolutely ages.
Linda, I have cold cereal with skim or 1% milk and a low calorie yogurt normally for breakfast. Then, I follow it with a decaf coffee with milk. It's my breakfast of choice.
I sandwiched a Precious Moments baby quilt with Noah's ark and coordinating backing yesterday. I may start to machine quilt it this afternoon. I bought the 2 pieces of fabric from a friend for $12. for the 2. And I used my new Hobbs batting in it - no scraps at all - unusual for me.
Mary, I appreciate that you are keeping an eye on what I eat. I don't want to put on any pounds right now when I am trying to alleviate the pain in my joints. I'll try to stay away from those Egg Mc Muffins.
Yesterday Jim , Lisa and I had a lovely time at my grand daughter, Amy's (hopefully) future in-laws. They were so welcoming and the mother made a dinner that took her all day to prepare. I secretly felt bad knowing I couldn't come close to offering the same since I can't cook a darn. They are building a cottage in the woods on their vast property and we all rode there on ATV, golf cart and motor bike. And we toured the construction site. They are hoping too that Amy and Phil will be a couple officially soon. Everyone in both families just love our two lovebirds. I gave Phil's mother the Pansy Quilt and she said that she will use it in their new home.
Egg McMuffin…haven’t had one in ages. Can’t have smoothies, way to much sugar from fruit, actually start shaking. My go to breakfast is either yogurt or a piece if black bread with peanut butter. Then once or twice a week an egg with fruit and bacon.
Heard US can enter Canada starting next week and later this month Canada will allow you to travel to US. With this crazy Delta+ it is getting crazy again. Hard to know what to do. We cancelled our 25th anniversary cruise. Was just going up Pacific coast, but now they require mask wearing and 72 hour in advance test. No problem with testing, but wearing the mask full time, I will just stay home. We can go out for a nice dinner.
Mary, I have a fruit smoothie for breakfast almost every morning. I add either protein powder or Greek yogurt to make it more filling.
I check here first everyday. I keep thinking Elizabeth is having another Egg McMuffin. This can't be good for her. My favorite breakfast is a fruit smoothie with whatever is on hand. But then I need a snack around 10am.
I treated myself to an Egg McMuffin and a snack size chocolate milkshake after my terrible morning. Just the second time I had a meal myself. I sat on my walker under a shady tree and ate my lunch watching the traffic go by. I worked on hand sewing the binding of the little quilt I'm making and I'll continue this evening. I made myself garlic shrimps, oriental fried rice and chocolate cookies for dinner. My freezer is full so I have a wide choice of my favourite foods.
Phase 3 of Ontario's reopening will be taking place soon. Restaurants will be opening. Next treat for me may be a mani and pedi. Wouldn't that be fun. My poor feet would just love that.
Liz, the border may take a while yet. I have to take a text before flying ( an expensive paid one, not free rapid test) then another when landed. By vehicle there are similar restrictions. Both US and Canada is being very cautious.
I am going to try to do something every week once I am past the 2 week mark. I am hoping the border will open and I can rejoin the American guild I used to belong to. A bus trip would be fun too, Linda. We have lots to look forward to.
Perhaps once my new dog is trained and covid has cleared up more. I don't know if there are bus trips here in Tucson. It was possible when I was up in Scottsdale, but we shall see.
Linda, Tiny Town will remain on here ...not going to make the same " editing" mistake l committed with original PHD challenge page ( l so regret that!) When you feel safe enough, perhaps a bus daytrip ( some lovely ones available for quilters) would be an option.
As long is our imaginations are intact we can keep visiting Tiny Town. Did I tell you I am getting my hair cut tomorrow? I decided not to wait until the vaccine is fully operational. I'll be very careful - I know my hairdresser is too.
I still need those reality checks, Riana! Being a shut-in, I don't get out in the "real" world much anymore. Sometimes I hate not being able to drive anymore, but there's so many crazies out there I don't think I'd want to get behind the wheel again. I still freak out sometimes just riding in a vehicle. I do miss day trips tho. I got to go on a day trip about a month ago. How refreshing that was!!!
Glad we did this. I wonder if cottage owners are going to keep visiting Tiny Town much longer...so much else going on now that things are openning up in the ' real world'.
