Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
Tiny Town is our safe haven when life gets crazy. We are all healthy and happy here, because we know our neighbours and friends living here are quilters too. To buy a small house in Tiny Town, you must perform one random act of kindness , and to buy a larger home ( 2 chimnies), you'll be performing 2 random acts of kindness. All houses have large sewing rooms, and have been built to last.Large homes have storage for more stash, but smaller homes have bigger yards. Here you can have housemates from your past, alive or otherwise, your present spouce ( only if you wish, lol) as well as pets from past or present. I know you will be responsible pet owers and thoughtfull neighbours, because this is just that kind of place. Only houses on the back are for sale.

My DIL and her family live in San Rafael which is too expensive for me. We are looking somewhere within an hour of there. My DIL is part of a large Hawaiian tribe so for them to accept me as an outsider is a big deal. But my DIL is like the daughter I never had and my two grandchildren want me closer. Altho I have friends here that have helped me since my back surgery, it's not quite the same. There have been many times I've needed something and have had no help. Maybe find me something within walking distance of amenities like grocery, pharmacy, etc. Then my DIL can help me with once a month grocery shopping and certain medical appts. Here in AZ I'm always having to rely on friends for everything. The local dial-a-ride is unreliable and often doesn't show up at all. Uber prices have increased with Covid.
Where in California would you be headed, Linda? I have a grand daughter in San Francisco but her mother does not allow her to be in touch with me. Her mother is married to my son and doesn't like me. Too bad, I would be nice to both of them if they would let me. I love them both.
Linda, I always think it is a good decision to be close to family for when an emergency occurs. I am happy being close to Jim for now. He comes to see me almost every week for a few hours and that is all I need right now. My daughter is coming to see me in October if she can and that is good for me too.
Lots to think about, Mary. I am waiting to hear from an electrician about lights in the kitchen, dining room and sewing room. The tradesmen are all busy now. Lots of projects are on hold here.
I did some groceries and did some banking. Glad to be back home.
I understand, Mary. I'm trying to decide whether or not I'm listing my home here in AZ and going to CA to be closer to family. I've spent many hours with a local agent and with my DIL's mother who is working on the CA end. I think at the moment we are just in the fact finding stage to see if it's financially possible. I know I can sell for a handsome sum and recoup what I ended up having to put into this house. The problem is finding something affordable in CA.
Sorry I missed the party. The painter was here and we were talking about outside house colors. We are staying with the old color, which was all a rusty brown. He suggested adding black to the roofs trim boards as there is some black in the roof, and some wrought iron railings. Black front door and garage door. Ponder, ponder.
Bye everyone! Hope you had fun with your pets. I think they all need a nap, lol.
These guys look like pros! Training for this shouldn't start until over a year old, the dog's body needs to reach a certain stage of developement. Our border collie x , Mikie , loved doing like these. Our daughter built a course in our pasture and they spent happy hours out there.
Thank you for the puppy party, Riana! Rocky decided the obstacle course was play time...LOL
Rocky is very friendly and likes to run around. I wonder if I could get him to do an obstacle course! He does like treats....LOL Getting him to do anything basic so far has been a challenge...ha! ha! ha! Maybe watching other dogs will be a good influence!!
The grandsons have set up an obstzcle course here at the park...who brought z dog that loves to show off?
I could only sallow yogurt but now I'm able to get some soft foods down...thankfully.
Liz, especially with a 10 week old puppy!
I hope that you are feeling better now, Linda. No fun being sick!
Thank you, Riana. I've made Rocky 2 bowties, but not with the collar attached. I love it!!!!! I just haven't put them on him yet.
Actually, I was down all last week with strep throat. Timing is everything. I'm finally feeling better but still have another week of antibiotics. Rocky was a trooper. Whenever I needed to lay down, he laid down and napped with me. His first week with me wasn't easy, but we survived. I was able to start some basic training a couple days ago. He's starting to understand pee pads. The basic sit and stay is coming along. I've let him drag the leash all week. The past couple days he's starting to walk a little on the leash, but still decides he wants to sit or lay down. So walks to the clubhouse or mailbox aren't happening yet.
The coat pattern is very similar to the one I used for Indy.
Liz, Macska likes to get up high! Havanese like to climb too but not quite so high. They will get up on the backs of sofas and chairs. They will climb up on dining tables too if you let them...something I don't allow. Rocky has already discovered the spare bed in the computer room that is covered in throw pillows. Havanese love to burrow in pillows. Rocky didn't hesitate! LOL
I'm going to post links for recipes to healthy doggie treats that you can make yourself.
