Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
Tiny Town is our safe haven when life gets crazy. We are all healthy and happy here, because we know our neighbours and friends living here are quilters too. To buy a small house in Tiny Town, you must perform one random act of kindness , and to buy a larger home ( 2 chimnies), you'll be performing 2 random acts of kindness. All houses have large sewing rooms, and have been built to last.Large homes have storage for more stash, but smaller homes have bigger yards. Here you can have housemates from your past, alive or otherwise, your present spouce ( only if you wish, lol) as well as pets from past or present. I know you will be responsible pet owers and thoughtfull neighbours, because this is just that kind of place. Only houses on the back are for sale.

I would like to move into 25 with my family and two dogs. Our house will be The Schoolhouse because the girls and I are doing school.

Welcome to Tiny Town, Anna. Riana is our Mayor. It is a peaceful town. We had a tea party last week. We all had to wear fancy dresses and hats. We played games and had a good look at Lind's (our hostess) tea sets on pinterest. We all sampled Mary's rum balls and maybe some of us had one to many. LOL!! Marys husband did some square dance calling and the whole neighborhood showed up on the street. Lots of sweet treets were served and Linda was the perfect hostess. Only 2 good deeds buys you a house.
So I am a bit slow. Never mind I forgot my info to log back in to this website for some time. So at first I thought this was a thread to do a house blocks swap, then I thought it was a place to work on your own UFOs but now houses are sold off. Baha I want in on the fun. Anna
Riana, most of the wall hangings were made from scraps and/or fat quarters. The leaves and pumpkin are from scraps of batiks.
Linda, love the varigated oak leaves
Our Hallowe'ens often included heavy sweaters beneath costumes, or rain gear over them...for some reason, Hallowe'ens were often a cold, rainy day, sigh. Indoor safer parties are the norm for my grandkids these days, and treats inspected carefully for tampering...a whole scary new world for them, l'm afraid. Still, the decorations in yards and adorning school classroom windows always make me smile.
Since my boys are now men, I haven't done anything for Halloween. They never involved me with their children. However, when they (my boys) were little, the husbands took the kids trick or treating and we wives sat on one of the front porches and passed out candy while drinking warmed peach schnapps with cinnamon sticks. The fire department set up hot cider, chocolate and donuts just down the street. So hubbies and kids got warmed up too! It was not uncommon to maybe have a dusting of snow on Halloween in NE Ohio.
Made one of the DIL's block of the month mini wall hangings. Here's October...
I have quilt to hang that is over in my gallery.
Let's help Mary decorate for the party! Post your photos of Hallowe'en outdoor and indoor decorations. How about Hallowe'en treat recipes, or punch? I'm curious about what your family does.
Linda, I am so glad to here that your kidney funciton is improving. Please take good care concerning the dieting you're doing. Eat lots of good healthy foods.
Come on over any time Ginny! There's always scones and shortbread in my pantry. Thank goodness, we don't have asthma or allergies in Tiny Town! I couldn't have so many roses otherwise...inside or outside!!! Also, thankfully we don't gain weight here either!!
After this past week, I have to stick like glue to my kidney/IBS diet! Just got my lab work done last week and I've been cheating ever since. I haven't cheated this much since I found out I had kidney disease. Fortunately, I have 3 months to turn it back around. Saw the kidney doctor today and my kidney function is improving since I first saw him a year ago. But it means strict adherence to the diet.
I just read that there was 60 degree drop in temps. in Denver , and they got snow! Today was a cloudy 66 f here. I went golfing after 4pm with lady's league...we were all putting on and taking off our light jackets as wind came up then died down & it was humid.
Mary l doubt your Tiny Town house will get that dirty...no big fires, just backyard campfires in safe fire rings. The air is nice and clean here.
Ginny, we saved you some scones...just pop over to Linda's . I think she has then in her pantry.l just love the roses growing all over Linda's house, don't you?
Oh quiet, Barbara! (LOL) We cooled down to 90 and have lots of smoke from the California fires. I'm sure it's not as bad as what Mary and others are experiencing. But it's bad enough when one has respiratory problems. I have a granddaughter just north of San Francisco with asthma. We all would appreciate some cooler weather, no wind, and some rain. Please pray for Oregon, Colorado, and California.
I really hate to tell you this Mary but our temp today in Oshkosh is 54 I had to put the furnace on tonight.
Hope Tiny Town houses clean themselves. A day and a half of high winds, not to mention all the smoke, and every surface in my house feels gritty and you can write your name on it. Too hot to close up the house.
We missed you Ginny. Hope to see you at the Halloween party. This is a party crowd! What started out as a simple tea party turned into a large block party! Can't wait for the Halloween party!
Oh, I missed the party! I was gone yesterday. Shoot! So sorry! Looks like everyone had a great time and ate some yummy treats! Fatigman! Mary, I haven't seen those since I left ND. I can almost taste that tender pastry!
Yes, Mary, bigvenough for a pool...the small houses have very large yards.
Found Lynn at my house. She was icing her knee (a broken kneecap a year and a half ago) after dancing for two hours this afternoon. Her first time dancing since the accident. I apologized to her for suspecting something else. She sends her thanks for the party, she hasn't laughed this much since March. (She doesn't have a computer. I phoned her during the party to read her all the comments.)
Kris, Please come the next time.
Let's bring lots of grands to the Halloween party.
Riana, Is there room for a pool in my backyard?
Forgot to mention the sunset at poolside was gorgeous!
Kris, happy you could join if only second hand. The shortbread melts in your mouth and I used Heath bar toffee chips this time since it's all I had.
Did anyone ever find Lynn? Didn't find her under the rose bushes! ROFLOL
I agree, Riana. The Dr. Zeus had would make a perfect chef hat for Paul. He can wear it at the Halloween party.
