The 9 patch is a square in a square. If I put it on point, then those columns will be longer than the column of panels. I don't want it longer than the column of panels or it will be too big for me to quilt myself by the time I get borders on. If you look close, the 9 patch is actually on point within the square. If I flip the whole square on point, the 9 patch will no longer be on point.

The large 9 patch is a friendship star.

I like the top one best, can you off set them a little? That is just what I am seeing.

I like A, Linda. I think I would also flip the 9patch on point so they are both on the inside or both on the outside. Feels more balanced to me.

Elizabeth I made two quilts out of that book once. The only thing with this quilt is you need to be very alert and awake so that you can track what you are cutting. Well, I guess that it with all Bargello's... that reminds me , I really need to get some UFO's done.. but I have so many more projects to start ...lol  Mama duck you did not hear that !

I still need to make some filler blocks for the two rows.

Opinions please...Layout A or Layout B?

Zoe, that's a very nice quilt you want to make.  It looks a lot easier than many bargello quilts that I have seen.  I have been puttering around this morning and have not quilted yet, but I might do something soon.

Linda, l go on to look...but then l " visit" some of the blog sites. I pick up new techniques and tips from some very gifted quilters. Up bright & early...had coffee. Now, on to that repair job!

Kris, I was looking at your projects, they are all very nice. There is a book that I used the pattern out of for 2 quilts so far. The book is called Paperback Bargello Quilts with a Twist Book Some of your quilts reminded me of this. Each block is the same , but it is a puzzle and how you place it will give you a new picture.  There is one I want to make in there for myself, when I have everything caught up.

I rarely get on Pinterest any more...only if I need to find something.

Linda, this is a prime example of why l like to have all fabrics/ supplies on hand before even starting. Oh well...more stash for future...you may need to sell some quilts to help pay for puppy training!

Everyone seems to be making such great progress! Here it is March, and l find l totally need to speed up repairing the wedding ring quilt. So l'm going to start working on it early a.m. and spend less time " catching up" on facebook! And pinterest...does anyone else " fall down the rabbit hole" on there and emerged dazed over an hour later? Honestly...so much to see...those " 10 minutes" are long gone in the blink of an eye!

I think I saw that special too, Riana. I changed the layout because I didn't like the size. I'm still debating if I want to put the 3 panels down one side or down the middle. I had them going diagonally. I've started sewing blocks together today, but had to stop as I need to get a dog coat order out in the next day or so.

Got the fabric in today for the Thimbleberries quilt. Don't like ordering online because you can't tell if the fabric is a good match colorwise or not. Well not going to work. I found a shop in Wyoming that carries nothing but Thimbleberries. If I flip a couple of the fabrics on this next border, she has a mauve that will work. It's changing the colorway of the border a little, but I can't find the color needed. I paid for priority shipping.

Linda, that small panel piece peaking from behind the table is what l meant looks to have the yellow sub . I saw a special taped in England years ago, where someone was showing the area where the Beatles lived/ worked. One was " Penny Lane", a picturesque little road with a brick wall along the side and the lane's sign.

We do the same, Linda. Go to bed early get up and sew go back to bed. Every day is different and wish I could keep a pattern of some sort.

Comment by Linda Koller on February 28, 2021 at 9:25pm

I am not doing applique yellow submarines!!!!!!

Comment by Riana Noyes on February 28, 2021 at 9:10pm

Ah, l missed the b/ w words. I did see the wall, but thought you'd tacked a pattern up there...now l see the tip of a yellow submarine. Now that silly song is in my head and won't go away! LoL

Did you notice one of the panels in the background on the design wall? There are more Beatles fabrics that are not visible and one in the lower left.

To all the night-owls:  I'm not sure it is good to have interrupted sleep.  I sometimes have to get up to go to the bathroom but I try to get right back to sleep.  I try to avoid staying awake in the middle of the night.

My son and his wife came over this afternoon and stayed with me.  I had a list of things I wanted help with and it was nice.
