I finished my Fairies Quilt top.  I decided not to put a border on it.  It will be 48 x 56 and is intended for a little girl.

I baked a baguette for dinner and now I have a baked salmon dinner in the oven.  It's nice to have frozen senior meals ready to pop in when I feel like one.  The portions are small but I get 2 vegetable helpings that are half of the plate.

Thank you, Chris.  I am ready to sew down my binding on the Christmas Quilt by machine.  I didn't think it needed the "by hand" treatment.  At the same time, I am sewing the rows of my Fairies Quilt.  The pattern called it The Brown Quilt but I don't have any brown in it.  It is all pastels with a predominant fabric with fairies on it.  The pinks are the brightest colours in it.  I sewed the blocks during the sew day on Saturday.  I didn't lay it out - Macska would have gotten into it on the bed so I just varied the blocks as I sewed them into rows.

Macska has changed my routine in the morning.  I get up and dressed and have my breakfast.  Then I empty his litter box and swiffer the whole condo quickly to pick up the cat hairs.  Macska tried to get up on the table when I was eating but I said "no,no" (in English, not Hungarian) and he backed off.  He meowed so much last night wanting to go out.  I spoke to the Vet.'s receptionist and she said the neutering may help or maybe not because the cat was used to going out.

Thank you all for your kind words. Grief is the price of love, unfortunately.

I love the Secret Window quilt Liz.

I have finally been able to find a wide green batik backing for my bargello. I am hoping it will be here next week so I can get that loaded on my longarm. I have dug the pink and brown version of Valley Blossoms out of the project box and begun the final paper pieced units. Still a long way to go on that, as I have to make the border pieces and then do all the machine applique after that. I only have that one and my hand applique Balitmore Christmas on my UFO list for the year.

Hi everyone, l just got hooked up online at my dd's house in Santa Cruz, Ca. My 3 projects are on hold for a month as l care for my 4 yr old grandd while mom & dad work. Thankfully, many days it's from home...but they need uninterrupted time, plus they need to drive in to work some days.

Chris, l remember how sad it was when emphazema slowly stole away my lovely fil, (such a  sweet person). You will honor yours in a special way, l'm sure. Condolances to your husband , you, and the rest of the family.

I spent yesterday evening planning 4 wheelchair quilts that I want to work on.  I am trying to imagine how the recipients will feel about them so I lay out the blocks to make the arrangement as pleasing as possible.  I started sewing them, thinking as I sew about the person the little quilt is destined for.  It's a healing process for me.

Chris, I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of your Father in Law.  It is very sad to lose someone in your family whom you love and honour.  It may be a comfort to you to reconnect with your joy of quilting at this time, as you said.

Chris, so very sorry about your FIL. May God wrap his comforting arms around you and the family and bring you peace.

Wow, so much activity here the last few days.

Liz, I love the quilt and the label. What a great name you suggested Ginny!

Riana and Linda, I can totally relate to the chaos caused by home improvements. My studio isn't 100% done and the supplies are not put away. The floor desperately needs cleaning, etc. I am trying to ignore that a bit and just enjoy the space for now. Cleaning can come any time.

Sadly, my father-in-law passed on Monday night after an 8+ year battle with cancer. It was so hard to watch him slowly fade away. I am glad he is at peace now, but we will all miss him terribly. He was the best of men. I have some time off to help us all deal with what needs to be done, and to try to come to terms with losing him. Maybe I will feel like getting out there and spending some me time in my studio. I had pulled the Pink and Brown Valley Blossoms quilt from the box the other day and started cutting for the final sections that need piecing. I also ordered backing for the green bargello the other day so I hope to have that soon and get it all loaded on the longarm.

Chris - that's a BEAUTIFUL bargello!!  What a great start to your gorgeous new sewing center.  Keep it rolling!

Riana - this duck is swimming along.  I'm quilting the French Braid now, and have one and a half of the 7 braids quilted. Aiming to be done with it by the end of June.

Liz and Ginny - sitting here giggling over Purple Prancing Pachyderms.  What a great name! Kudos, Ginny!

No, Ginny, I don't have anyone in mind for the quilt.  I just make them and stack them up until someone claims them.

I did quite a bit of work in the kitchen - the cupboards haven't been done since I moved in.  I feel good when I see them looking nice and clean.

L♡ ve that label, Liz! Today hubby and l took a day off to go golfing. Tomorrow he's doing finishing touches to hallway before sanding.l'm still patching that wedding ring quilt.

First off - you have beautiful penmanship, Elizabeth! Second - I am glad you liked my suggestion. This is a very pretty, sort of girly quilt. Does it have a special someone already?

Linda, you inspired me to get a move on in the kitchen.  I am doing one of those cupboards where you have to get down on your knees and crawl in just to take the stuff out that are hiding in the back.  I couldn't even reach back there to clean it out.  But I think whatever I wash down will be good enough.  I found all kinds of things that I may use now that I know I own them.

I have been working on a scrappy backing.  It is kind of fun sewing bits and pieces of fabric together.

I haven't heard from the humane society so I know how anxious you must be, Linda, waiting for your pup to be conceived.  And it won't be long until you have your cataract surgeries.  You will have a chance to slow down and rest up afterwards.

Comment by Linda Koller on June 6, 2021 at 10:24am

I haven't gone anywhere, Riana! My house has been is disarray for months now. First a major leak in the master bath and big mold problem. Finally got it fixed and now had to have the subfloor replaced in the great room in the middle of the main traffic area. He finished late yesterday afternoon. Now to start cleaning! There is dust everywhere! I've taken down most of the curtains and quilts on the wall and laundered and cleaned the windows and chandelier in the dining area last night. Today is the kitchen area. I dread starting the sewing room area...all those books!!

My cataract surgeries are scheduled for July 15 and 29...finally! My vision has gotten so bad that I'm stepping out in front of vehicles. When out in the sun, I'm literally blind in my left eye. I miss my Indy so very, very much!! I talked to the breeder. Evidentally momma Coco has not gotten pregnant after two tries. He's hoping the third time will be a charm.
