Linda, the golden 'op- art' fabric is perfect! You'd be wise to separate all your remaining Beatle's fabrics , so not to accidently cut them for other projects, and treat them as an " investment". Sell when you need to finance puppy training or vet bills. The Beatles were only known to a certain age group...after a few years, the peak prices will drop, as those buying collectables will be too young to remember. This happened with many items you see on Antiques Rd. Show... case in point, Royal Doulton Lady figurines and fancy silverware.
Wow! Linda, your Beatles quilt top is terrific. No wonder someone wanted to buy it. I don't go on Etsy or Ebay so I don't know what is for sale there.
I watched most of Oprah's interview with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex last night. At least Meaghan got to tell her side of events. I loved the fact that they are raising chickens on their property.
I was looking on Etsy and Ebay. Those panels are worth between $75 and $100 each!!! I looked because someone asked me if I was interested in selling the quilt. You can still get the backing but only in blue. I couldn't find the yellow. Some other Beatles fabrics that I have I didn't even see or you could only buy small pieces at a premium.
Linda, it looks terrific... love your chosen layout! l hope you use that snazzy red that's in the vertical bands as binding.
Wilma, looking forward to seeing photo finish.
Great job Linda! I love the colors and fabrics. So fun!
Thank you, Barbara.
Hearthside Harmony is beautiful, Liz.
Finished the Beatles top. Not sure when I'll get around to quilting as my master bath is getting torn up this week and there will be workmen walking thru the house over the next 2 weeks. Had a major leak that has damaged the drywall behind the tile work, the floors, and even gone thru to the wood siding outside. I can't even sleep in the master bedroom due to mold. There is a possibility that I may have to go to a motel if the work causes me any breathing issues. The guy from Eco-Dri assures me that insurance will cover everything including a motel if it becomes necessary. He is handling all the insurance issues.
Thank you, Wilma. I haven't got to my 2nd Ph.D quilt yet. I changed my mind and I will work on my Hungarian quilt next.
I picked up fabric for binding today, so should finish 2nd PHD this week...Dresden Neighborhood.
I love your quilt, Elizabeth.
Thimbleberries fabric arrived today and it's perfect!
Thank you, Ginny. I didn't take a photo of the back but I made it out of the usual scrappy pieced 12 1/2" blocks but I made my own label using fabric crayons - they turn out much brighter than the ordinary crayola crayons I normally use.
So pretty, Elizabeth! Is this done with a Split 9 Patch block? Your colorway is wonderful!
Thank you everyone! Linda, I'm glad that you like the Hearthside Harmony. It is from Lynda Milligan and Nancy Smith's book "Super Simple Fat Quarter Quilts". I used 2 1/2" squares - all scraps. I've made another quilt from the book called "Ashley" which is a square matched with a block made up of a rectangle and 2 squares.
I guess you must be looking forward to your Thimbleberries fabric arriving, Linda. But you must be almost ready to quilt your Beatles project.
Riana, I probably would have skipped the border but it was my daughter's idea and she told me she liked the border too.
Zoe, thank you for the card. It makes me feel special to have such caring friends on this site. I feel fortunate that I have this place to share my quilting with you and all the other things that we talk about and help each other through.
I want to share with you too that Zoe sent me a fabulous pattern to make a scrap happy 37 x 40 wall hanging of a sewing machine. It can be expanded into a lap quilt with the addition of some borders. Thank you for your kindness, Zoe.
I'm working on Beatles quilt today. Thimbleberries fabric should arrive Monday.
Oh Liz, I love it!
Great finish Liz!
Oh, Liz, that's lovely! Those blue/ white borders pull it all together :-)) Did you use 2.5" squares? 3 ?
