Suzanne...that would be GREAT if you'd be a host!!!  Since swap #1 is only my 2nd swap I've participated in, I just don't feel comfortable being the host!  Plus, the host gets to choose what to swap!

And Patricia, Diana has been having computer problems for about a week now; which is why she's not on much right now.  The first swap started as soon as Diana joined...about when I did a month ago.  She was the first person here to mention swapping at all.  And I think it's great she decided to set up a group specifically for swapping.  Also, Patricia, my house sounds like yours, only I hope it stays put for awhile longer!  Hubby decided to go back to school full-time and is only working part-time so we don't have money like we used to :(  Luckily I'm still able to buy fabric!

I'd like to join in on the fun, too. I've never done a fabric swap B4. Missed the 1st one as I just found this site a few days ago. Looking fwd to details for the June swap.

This looks like it will be lots of fun. I have been exploring some quilting blogs and have seen some quilters share what they received from their swaps. I think it would be fun.  I have also enjoyed admiring the creative ideas people have come up with in their sharing/swapping.  Thanks for the invite, I'm in.

Bridget, if you don't want to be the hostess, I will take it on.  Just let me know.

Bridget, Thanks for the info re: the 1st swap.  Now I know why Diana didn't respond to my request for details (though I wasn't worried about being ignored) Was the swap set up before this site got going?

Well I hope you do hosting.  I am having a huge (read that as Huge) construction project at my home, starting very soon. I need railroad ties taken out and replaced with "rock" to avoid my house falling down-not that it is in imminent danger but it will be if not taken care of.  And my grandkids are all coming at the end of the month and they are staying for two weeks so I'm about keeping it simple as possible now but I might be able to muster the energy to get to a mailbox (ha).  Hope you decide before Saturday because I might be going to a small quilt show in our area which, lucky me, happens to be right near my favorite, but not close, quilt shop so I could stock up on FQs.

As far as what to swap, well if you are host why not pick something you particularly like.  Whatever it is I would like to do it but if it is something like 30's repo I would need to purchase since I don't use them much-but I like them.  I like it all. So I hope this is encouragement.  And since you are new to it we will all be completely supportive and will praise you for your courage.  Right Ladies?

Ideas for June swap...just in case I get up the nerve to host a swap I want to know what others are interested in.  Since this is totally new to me I would prefer doing the same as May...fat quarters.  What would you want to swap?  Specific color?  Batiks?  30's reproductions? Patriotic?

My only hesitation in doing it is that there are specific rules and it's frustrating when they aren't followed.  Such as putting your fabric in a baggie and putting your name on it (so you don't get back your own fabric!).  Also, being fair and not sending junky fabric.  Diana has a perfect list of rules that I'd copy...IF I did it.  I sure wish someone else would host a swap!  I'm thrilled that Diana started the idea in the first place!

Patricia, I think it's too late for the first swap...all fabrics were supposed to be at Diana's by today and then she'll swap them and send them back sometime this week.  I was hoping someone would start a new swap for June.  I'd do it, but I've never done one before, so I'm kind of nervous about being in charge of everyone else's fabrics!  Anyway, Diana is having computer problems, so she's not posting a lot right now.  But I do know she's about ready to be sending everyone their fabrics who participated.

ALSO, there were several posts about the swap and it got rather confusing, so Diana started this group so all swap info could be in one place.  The rules are usually set by the host of the swap (fabric quality, size, color, etc.).

Hope this helps, and I'm sorry you didn't get to do this one, but there'll always be more!

I still never got any specifics about the first swap.  What was it?  How did it work? Who does it get sent to?  HELP!!
