Well ladies, I guess I better add my name to this list before I forget. I would like a 12.5 x 12.5" scrappy string block. Recently, I have really gotten in the scrappy string block mood. I love…Continue

Colleen would like the same pattern used as Kris, but with a slight twist. She would like the center blue, the short side white and the long side red.Continue

Lee would like crazy blocks. 12.5 x 12.5" Red, Whites, and Blues, of course. I know that Lee likes live theater, so I was thinking maybe blocks that represented a different Broadway play. Even…Continue

Melanie has decided to join the log cabin group, so by now everyone should have the instructions for this on, as it has been the most popular block for our group this year. She would like the red…Continue

Like Linda, I may not get all mine finished until after the holidays. We brought a truckload (Ford Expedition size) to SIL in NC. Went and checked progress of new home….phase 1a is being worked…we are phase 2a, but there are only 146 homes in this 55+ community. We brought 4 of my machines this go round. The embroidery and my other sewing machine will be part of final move. Will try to pull a bunch of RWB materials together and maybe work on a few items when we return (flying back today).
Congratulations to Juan. Hope you took some pictures.
Linda hope all goes well with sale and move. We had our buyers back out day before their earnest money deposit became non refundable. Hope soon will get another offer. New home isn’t ready til fall 2022 (estimate). Will stay with SIL once house sells.
You're doing great, Colleen!
I probably won't get all mine done until after the holidays. My house is going on the market and it looks like I'll be relocating to be closer to family in CA. More later when there is more known. In early stages at this point.
Good for you Colleen! I definitely need to get more of them done. I don't even remember how many I've done.
I’m hoping to finish the other 4 next week ( this week I’m working way too much- ) then I’m going to make a couple journal covers and look to see what else I’ve missed. I can’t believe October is hitting this week- I’m still trying to figure out what happened to July. But, at least I’m managing to get a few things done.
Congratulations, Juan!
Hello ladies, sorry I have not checked in for a while. I have been on the road again, loving life. I am so happy that Linda has gotten her little buddy, I know he will bring her many years of joy. He is just too cute.
Speaking of our fur babies. My little Juan won best dressed dog at the RV rally we went to. He wore his cowboy outfit and hat. I was really surprised that he didn't try to shake or chew it off.
Yea! Thank you Linda. I’ve had the same problems trying to make them without foundation- no matter how accurate I cut and sew, they always seem to ( skew) somewhere along the way.
I'm thinking of re-making my log cabin blocks that way Colleen. Mine did not come out correctly and I was so careful about measuring as I went along too. Go for it!!
I have a question about our log cabin blocks and the string block…is it ok to use a foundation making them? I made 3 log cabin blocks that way then thought maybe I wasn’t supposed to make them that way. The string blocks are on foundations too. I use a prewashed thin muslin for foundation. Before I go any further I figured I should find out if they will be ok.
as for mine— I don’t mind at all. I’ve made plenty of quilts with foundation pieced blocks and blocks without.
