Scavenger Hunt - September - Plastic bag storage

Plastic bags seem to multiply like rabbits.  Even when you use reusable shopping bags they seem to sneak in and multiply.  This month we are going to help our sisters out with that problem by making…Continue

We all have that one gadget that we just can't seem to live without.  Actually, I have several, and many of them I received as hostess gifts many years ago from Tupperware.  LOL.  My egg separator…Continue

Well ladies, I guess I better add my name to this list before I forget.  I would like a 12.5 x 12.5" scrappy string block.  Recently, I have really gotten in the scrappy string block mood.  I love…Continue

I'm thinking of re-making my log cabin blocks that way Colleen. Mine did not come out correctly and I was so careful about measuring as I went along too. Go for it!!

I have a question about our log cabin blocks and the string block…is it ok to use a foundation making them? I made 3 log cabin blocks that way then thought maybe I wasn’t supposed to make them that way. The string blocks are on foundations too. I use a prewashed thin muslin for foundation. Before I go any further I figured I should find out if they will be ok.
as for mine— I don’t mind at all. I’ve made plenty of quilts with foundation pieced blocks and blocks without.

I think I fixed it Melanie. At least as far as Secret Santa is concerned.

The correct account is the one with flowers.  I will check to see about deleting the other account.

Second surgery went well. This time my eyelid had some swelling but I'm doing good. I can't turn in the application for Rocky's training  until I physically have him in my possession. I'm not sure how long it will take for them to evaluate and accept him for training. We will be training together was my understanding.

Great pictures Kathy.  I have tried to get hubby to do a cross country trip in a camper, but he won’t here of it.  Oh well, will find other ways to see the USA.

Linda how did your 2nd cataract surgery went well.  Can’t wait to see pics of your new puppy.  When does Rocky start training?

Colleen, you can find your answer up in the discussion forum.

I've been tied up getting my cataracts taken care of. Had the first surgery last week and go in tomorrow morning for the second one. So far so good. Things are looking brighter. They can't do anything for the double vision or the peripheral vision that was caused by my car accident years ago, but I'll take what I can get so I can continue to sew. Thankfully, the double vision isn't all the time.

I get my new puppy the end of August. Since I'm not being allowed to travel because of the new covid variant, my DIL and grandkids will pick him up in California and bring him to me here in Tucson. He is a chocolate and white Havanese and is adorable. It looks like he may be a long hair Havanese rather than a curly like Indy. But it's hard to tell since he's only 4-1/2 weeks old in the photo. The photo that was texted is in a format that I can't download from my phone so I can share. So y'all have to wait another month before I'll have photos. I've named him Rocky.

Hello everyone, sorry I have not kept up as well as I should with all of you.  This has been one of the most exciting years I have had in a long time and I am making the most of it, while I still can.  I hurt my back a couple of weeks ago, so I had to come home to go to the doctor.  It's tough to remember that I can't do all of the things that I use to take for granted.

This is South Haven, Michigan.  Wonderful weather, nice people, beautiful beach town.

These were our neighbors in Woodhaven Lakes, Illinois.  Three of them would visit us every morning.

I have seen so many animals in the wild this year, that I have only ever seen in zoos before.  Elk, buffalo, deer, porcupine, beaver, otter and one really fat ground hog.  I am so thankful to be able to have this experience, I wish everyone had a chance to do something like this at least once in their life.

I am feeling much more confident driving the truck and pulling the camper.  Still have not backed it up though.  Thank goodness Joe drove a semi for so many years because he can back it up into the tightest spots with no problem.  If it was me, I'd be taking out telephone poles and small buildings.
