There are always lots of discussions so you can try to guess who your Secret Santa might be and to drop hints for gifts to your Secret Santa.

Christmas Card - October - Kathy - String blocks

Started by Kathy Gurgone. Last reply by Colleen Froats yesterday. 3 Replies

Well ladies, I guess I better add my name to this list before I forget.  I would like a 12.5 x 12.5" scrappy string block.  Recently, I have really gotten in the scrappy string block mood.  I love…Continue

Scavenger Hunt - July - Spice

Started by Kathy Gurgone. Last reply by Wilma Schirra-Kays on Thursday. 7 Replies

This month I would like if everyone would pick out their favorite unusual spice to share with their Secret Santa sister.  But because, she may not have heard of that spice before, you need to include…Continue

Scavenger Hunt - June - Toothpick holder

I never seem to be able to find a toothpick when I really need one, so I thought that this month we would see just what kind of clever toothpick holder everyone could come up with.  It can be…Continue

Potholders are one of those things that wear out on a regular basis.  So your secret sister, whether she has admitted it yet or not, probably has one or two that need to be replaced.  This month's…Continue

Glad to know I am not the only one who has to get caught up. I never seem to get everything I plan to do in a day done. Seem to get side tracked very easily .

We are finally making progress on our kitchen project - took a while to find someone to do it. Should get started the middle of September. Have the countertop picked out - it is shades of creme, caramel, browns, blacks and grays. Yesterday we went to the tile store and found the backsplash. We also got samples of plank vinyl flooring. Also going to do some work in 2 bathrooms.

Kathy , thank you for sharing you trip. Sounds like you are having a great time and making great memories.

Beth, when is the new grand baby due?

Do we have a list to refer to that tells each of our blocks we wanted for our red white & blue?  Know there were numerous log cabin blocks but I don’t remember the ( hearths) being red or other choices & I’m just feeling a bit ( lost)

Agreed Colleen, I have some catching up to do as well.

New Grandbaby on the way!

Such fun to put a face with a name! Hi, Kris! I thought about you all last year and I know! You and Kathy having real face to face time is so cool!

Be kind to yourself, Colleen! With your work schedule, you are accomplishing plenty, I'm sure!

Kathy, your travel adventures are fun for us living vicariously through you. I've really enjoyed your sharing all of the pictures.

Boy, I have some catching up to do! It seems like the days are a runaway locomotive and I am in slow motion. What used to take 2-3 hours now takes 2-3 weeks. I keep trudging along but it can take me a whole day to create one block. I will ( try) to spend a little time here and post some pictures/ things soon. I’ve been working 4 days one week and 3 the next— 11 hour days— every other weekend. Sometimes it takes everything I have just figuring out the schedule- and then catching up at home when I have 1 or 2 days off in between.

Ditto to everything Kathy said about yesterday! We had a wonderful time together exploring quilt shops in Lima.  Unfortunately, my lovely little shop right here in Celina is closed on Thursdays, so I didn't get to show that off.  Kathy has had wonderful adventures in her life and I loved hearing the stories! Here are pictures for you:

Just finished spending a fun day quilt shop hopping with Kris Howell.  My husband, Joe, spent the day fishing with her husband, Tom.  Then we all met up for dinner.  The weather was wonderful, the company even better.  It has been so nice being able to put a face with a name.  I told Kris, the thing I will most remember about her, is her wonderful giggle.  I hope sooner or later that I will get to meet all of you as we travel around the country.  I know that I have not been on-line as much as I would like, but I still have all of you in my thoughts.

Kris, just google toothpick holder images. There are soooo many images to see!

And this week it will be my turn to meet Kathy!!  She's stopping in my town in Ohio for a couple days.  I'll keep you posted on our activities!

Beth - how's daughter and baby?  How about a recent picture of baby, since we know they change so fast.

Trudyanne - did you get your kitchen renovations done?

Toothpick holders?  I've never had one, lol, and don't know what to look for.  Maybe those of you who have them can post a picture or two?  I just have a box of them in the cupboard above the oven so I can grab one when I need to check baked goods for doneness.

Have a wonderful Independence Day weekend everyone.
