Thank you Ginny.  My sister lost everything, but she is safe and has a place to stay right now.

I am so sorry to hear of your family's losses, Vickie! Continuing prayers for all the fire victims in CA.

Yes, life is more important than possessions.  How nice that you are making kennel quilts.  I have been reading about all the pets needing care.  Lots of pets from Texas have come to Oregon to be adopted.  The Oregon Humane Society has been in Texas since Harvey hit.  What a job.

Vicki, that is so very sad. I know Rhoda and the grandchildren would be devastated if they lost all the quilts I've made them...there are many. But in the end, life is more important than possessions. Fortunately, you are able to make more. And I will do the same.

I make kennel quilts for the Quilt Pattern Magazine kennel quilt team. They just put the call out for California fires. I just finished another batch last night that will be going out to Oakland on Monday. I have to give a few to my local shelter that I support since I've been sending the last 2 batches to hurricane rescues. I have a lot more cut and ready to put together but out of batting.

Linda, hope your grandchildren enjoy the break at the bowling tournament.  Fresh air will smell so good to them.  Yes, rain and better containment would be great.  My sister lost everything except what she was wearing and her purse.  They left her car and took my niece's car as so many people were leaving the streets were gridlocked.  I am working on a quilt for her as she lost all the ones I have made over the years.

Vickie, my daughter-in-law Rhoda told me last night that things were closed and remaining closed next week due to air quality. They were in emergency a few times this past week due to Mila's asthma. Rhoda is in a bowling tournament in Reno this weekend so it gets them away from the smoke for a few days. I'm praying for rain and better containment before the winds pick up again. God be with your sister. Can't imagine loosing everything like that. I hope they were able to get a few things out when they evacuated.

Thank you Linda.  The pictures on the news are heartbreaking and sometimes too hard to look at.  Hope your grandchildren stay safe.  My husband has asthma and it was hard on him here this summer with fires around us.  A lot of schools and other public facilities I think are still closed.

Vickie, will certainly pray for your sister. I don't watch the news and only learned last night how close the fires were to that area. My daughter-in-law and grandchildren live in San Rafael which is just less than 30 miles from the fires. They are getting a lot of smoke. My granddaughter has severe asthma. I was told the schools and public facilities were closed earlier in the week in Marin County. The winds are expected to pick back up next week so I'm praying they get some containment over the weekend. Otherwise the fires will spread into Marin County.

Haven't been here in a while, but would appreciate prayer.  My sister lost her home in Santa Rosa Monday in the fires.  She is safe and has a place to stay.  Many others are not as fortunate as her.  Thank you.
