How do you do most of your piecing-by hand or machine? I know machine piecing is much faster, but I enjoy doing it by hand so much more. What does everyone else like?Continue

I'd like to know what machine you use as your primary piecing machine, and why you like it. I tried out a couple at a recent show, but I have to sell my Baby Lock Quest first. I'm asking for opinions…Continue

Merry Christmas to you all. Hoping your new year is filled with much piece.
Hello ladies, just joined this group. That is a lovely embroidery quilt Leann you are in the process of making. Put that one in my bucket list.
I buy the embroidery designs I like and then do them in whatever colors I like. I checked the quilts I have in my photos here and this is the only one with Janet Sansom's designs http://myquiltplace.com/photo/red-checkerboard-detail?context=user full view: http://myquiltplace.com/photo/red-checkerboard-1?context=user I've used that particular set of designs in several totally different quilts.
It is lovely but I did not make it. Janet Sansom did. I bought the Digitized pattern from her and I am in the process of making my own version. I fell in love with it. Had to have it! You know just one of those things! LOL
WOW very lovely Leann
Nope Sue, I did not buy it from Janet Sansom. I am bad. I buy all year long from digitizers all over the world and when the slow season comes, for me that is summer time, I pull out everything I bought during the year, much of which I have forgotten I even had. This particular pattern is one of them. How I forgot about it I will never know it is beautiful. Anyway during the slow Ebay/Etsy season, I am still stitching away the new samples and new quilts etc trying to get ahead of the new season. Which is a laugh. I am working on Janet Sansom's Paisley Pirouette #1 and 2 right now, and a client is in the works for a Holiday carousel quilt, we are working out the details now. So I am rushing to get the Paisley sets done as I only have one machine, even though it is a 6 needle there is only so much it can do. I have a 10 needle and a longarm on my Xmas list, along with an all in one computer. Anyone seen those new computers, or am I the only hermit here?
I love Janet Sansom. And Yes this is her Design. They are so big and Beautiful. I am using alot of Robinson Anton Bitteroot and New Berry, along with plum and Burgundy for a deeper richer color effect. Not that hers is not beautiful. I am just not really a heavy pink kinda gal. I have alot of her quilt designs that I make up in quilt tops and sell them on Ebay. One of these days maybe I will be able to make one or 2 for myself. :) I have another pattern I just bought. Very heavy baroque style not sure if I purchased it from Janet Sansom or not. Let me see if I can grab a pic somewhere and if I can I will post it here.
Hi Leann, I am much like you in that I did some quilting back in the 1980s then did my 'career' years and am now back into it. I also do a lot of embroidered quilts. I think that is a Janet Sansom embroidery design set below. I love her work - I've used many of the designs in my quilts. I think some of them are posted here on my profile photo area.
Hello Leann... Hope your quilting journey is fun and interesting. I understand about restarting after life with work, children, etc.
