Hi I am new at quilting and from NW Ohio. I am hoping to make lap quilts for our local Veterans that are in the nursing homes in the area. I have high hopes at getting several made before this fall to give to them. Doesn't look like this is very active group.
I'm in Cincinnati-belong to the Ohio Valley Quilters Guild. Check their website for area meetings. We have a meeting next Monday at the Sycamore Senior Center in Blue Ash off of Reid Hartman Highway. I also participate in a small group at Gorman Farm in Evendale-always looking for new members. There is a quilt store in the Milford area that might have some information for you (0n 28 I think).
Is anyone here in Cincinnati? I am looking for quilting groups in the Clermont area with no luck?
Welcome June. Too bad you don't live in NE Ohio. I have a Havanese who is 3 that is a rescue also from a puppy mill. Indy has been with me for 1-1/2 years now. Where in NW Ohio are you?
I always have more than 1 project going at the same time. I think we quilters have minds that are always working ahead.
Hugs.
Good Morning!!! I'm June from NW Ohio. I've been quilting for about 5 years now and love it!!! I'm retired, married with 3 children and 6 grandchildren and a 15 year old Shih Tzu we saved from a puppy mill and a mix ??? named Cody who is 3 years old and who we adopted from the animal shelter. I have three projects I'm working on at the moment. A large lap quilt top I finished this morning about 1:30am, another lap quilt that I'm quilting but need to rip out some of the top stitching on the quilt top, batting and backing. And my last project is a small wallet I'm trying to make.
Happy Quilting !!!!!!
June
By the way these quilts were donated to a retreat center in AZ that councils church workers, ministers and their spouses, and military chaplains. There were 12 quilts total. All my quilts go to charity and my 7 grandchildren and other family members.
